Peg Systems
By Randy Salars·
Short Answer
Associate information with a pre-memorized list of pegs (numbers, shapes, or objects) so you can retrieve items in order. Example: 1-bun, 2-shoe, 3-tree.
How to Use a Peg System (Fast)
- Memorize your peg list first (10 pegs is enough to start).
- Turn each target item into a vivid image.
- Make the item interact with the peg image (action + exaggeration).
- Recall by counting pegs in order and “seeing” what’s attached.
Common Mistakes
- Weak peg list (you must know pegs automatically).
- Too many items per peg (one item per peg when learning).
- Links that are static instead of active (use action scenes).
