What is visualization?

Short Answer

Visualization is sensory rehearsal: you picture a process or performance to prime perception, planning, and execution under real constraints.

A Practical Template

  1. Visualize the first 60 seconds (not the whole story).
  2. Name the obstacles you expect to meet.
  3. Rehearse the response to each obstacle.
  4. Start immediately (before the image fades).

Failure Mode

Visualization works best when it is paired with constraints and a real next step. If it becomes a substitute for action, it drifts into fantasy.
