Emotional Signature (This Is Key)
The emotional signature is one of the cleanest discriminators. Signal tends to arrive in a low-noise emotional state. Noise tends to arrive with urgency, identity inflation, or compulsion.
A sharp rule
If it flatters you, doubt it.
Typical signal signature
- Calm, coherent, quiet.
- Optional, not commanding.
- Patient, not urgent.
- Ethical and integrating, not self-serving.
Typical noise signature
- Urgent, loud, emotionally spiky.
- Identity-inflating (“chosen,” superior).
- Compulsive (“you must act now”).
- Ethics-bypassing (“rules don’t apply”).
