Guardrails (Absolutely Essential Post-AGI)
Any model of “receiving insight” becomes dangerous if it bypasses skepticism or inflates identity. Hill warned about drift. In a post-AGI world—high persuasion, high noise—guardrails are not optional.
Healthy use includes
- Grounding in daily life and responsibilities.
- Delayed interpretation (capture now, evaluate later).
- Emotional regulation and stability-first pacing.
- Humility toward insight (it can be wrong).
- Willingness to discard impressions that don’t hold up.
Red flags (map these explicitly)
- Urgency (“act now or you’ll miss it”).
- Grandiosity (“I’m chosen / special / above rules”).
- Exclusivity (“only I know; others can’t understand”).
- Loss of skepticism(no testing, no time delay).
- Compulsion (you can’t stop, can’t sleep, can’t function).
