Redefining the Firm

What is a Business?

We confuse the "Business" with the "Office." A business is simply a machine that solves a problem for a profit. AI strips away the office, leaving the machine.

We carry a lot of baggage about what a "Company" looks like: Offices, HR, water coolers, meetings. These are not the business; they are the overhead required to run a business with humans. A business, in its purest form, is a Value Delivery System. AI allows us to build the system without the baggage.

The Minimalist Definition

A Business is a set of instructions (SOPs) that transforms an input (Money/Time) into an output (Value) with a margin.
Everything else—branding, culture, real estate—is secondary.

The 3 Components

1. The Offer

The promise you make. (A human must design this).

2. The Mechanism

The machine that fulfills the promise. (AI can do this).

3. The Distribution

How people find the promise. (Content/Media).

Short Answer

When you strip away the office, the commute, and the politics, you are left with the raw economics of value exchange. AI works at this layer.
