Confession and Examination
Confession and examination are practices of self-reflection, honesty, and making amends. They are found in Christianity (confession), Judaism (Yom Kippur), Buddhism (atonement), and other traditions.
Self-examination: Regularly reviewing one’s actions, motives, and attitudes.
Confession: Admitting faults and seeking forgiveness from the divine and others.
Making amends: Taking steps to repair harm and restore relationships.
These disciplines foster humility, growth, and freedom from guilt and resentment.
