What to Write
"Dear Kids, I didn't buy this gold because I loved shiny things. I bought it because I wanted to make sure that no matter what happened to the economy, you would always have a safety net. This metal represents my love for you. Do not squander it on cars or vacations. Keep it. Pass it to your children. This is the family anchor."
The Result: When they read that, the "Found Money" psychology breaks. It becomes "Dad's Sacrifice." And they will protect it.
