Prosecutors in the penalty trial of Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz will begin their rebuttal case Tuesday, challenging his attorneys’ contention that he murdered 17 people because his birth mother abused alcohol during pregnancy, a condition they say went untreated. Prosecutor Mike Satz’s team is expected to call experts who will testify Cruz has antisocial personality disorder — in lay terms, he’s a sociopath — and fully responsible for his Feb. 14, 2018, attack at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. According to the National Institutes of Health, people with antisocial personality disorder commit “exploitive, delinquent and criminal behavior with…

A former attorney for Donald Trump condemned a decision by an appeals court to allow the Justice Department to continue examining classified materials seized during the Mar-a-Lago raid in August, alleging court documents contained a “huge revelation” which backed up Trump’s case. According to CNN, Wednesday’s unanimous ruling by a three-judge panel on the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals overruled a trial judge who had blocked federal investigators from continuing to examine documents marked as classified. Two of the judges on the panel had been nominated by Trump. “Those records — which prosecutors have said contain highly sensitive national…

A Pima County judge cleared the way Friday for a 121-year-old near-total ban on abortion to go back into effect in Arizona. Superior Court Judge Kellie Johnson’s ruling reinstated a law from 1901 — more than a decade before Arizona was granted statehood — that banned abortion except to save the life of the mother, KOLD-TV reported. There is no exception for cases of rape or incest, according to the report. Johnson’s ruling lifted a 1973 court injunction against the ban. Johnson heard arguments one month ago in the case brought by Planned Parenthood of Tucson against the Arizona attorney…

Fox News host Mark Levin argued Wednesday that Republican prosecutors are going to have to play hardball with Democratic leaders in light of Democratic prosecutors targeting former President Donald Trump. “What are Republicans going to do about these Democrat hacks in these prosecutors’ offices, who abuse their power to target President Trump, his family, and other Republicans?” Levin tweeted. “Unfortunately, but importantly, not until Republican prosecutors target prominent Democrats will this stop. The Bidens and Pelosis are ripe for the picking,” he added. Levin included a news story about New York state Attorney General Letitia James announcing a civil lawsuit…
