Tensions Boil In Virginia As Shot Fired At AG’s Office; LGBT, Pro-Abortion Groups Seethe

A pro-LGBT group in Northern Virginia is claiming that the state’s attorney general is targeting transgender kids even as escalating tensions over a pending Supreme Court decision on abortion threaten to turn the Old Dominion into a political powder keg.

Equality Loudoun claimed that it “has obtained information that Attorney General Jason Miyares … is seeking to obtain the records of queer students in Loudoun County.” Miyares is already under fire from pro-abortion rights groups who have been protesting outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, whose draft opinion overturning Roe v Wade was leaked on May 2. On Monday, a bullet was fired through a window at his Richmond office.

“Every single elected official and special interest group, regardless of their politics, must condemn this action unequivocally,” said Ian Prior, a Loudoun parent activist who leads the group Fight For Schools. He called the gunshot “an attempted deadly attack
