The Republican Party of Texas executive committee has taken a heroic action that could serve as an example for Republican and Democratic parties across America. It has adopted, by a 54 to 4 vote, a resolution clearly and emphatically demanding that Texas Governor Greg Abbott immediately end all the liberty-repressing measures that, over the last six months while the state legislature has been in recess, Abbott has imposed unilaterally in the name of countering coronavirus. The rebuke and demand of the resolution are particularly strong given that they come from Abbott’s own party. The resolution repeatedly and strongly condemns state and local government measures taken in Texas purportedly to counter coronavirus. It states, for example, that “egregious government overreach has resulted in unthinkable depredations upon the people of Texas, including millions left unemployed, countless businesses bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy, nursing home residents dying alone and isolated, lives ruined and dreams destroyed.” The resolution concludes with this strong and clear demand: Therefore be it resolved, the Republican Party of Texas calls on Gov. Greg Abbott to immediately rescind all COVID-related mandates, closures, and restrictions and to open Texas NOW. A copy of this resolution shall be sent by the Republican Party of Texas to the Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Republican State Senators, and Republican State Representatives. Read the complete resolution, along with some background information, in Brandon Waltens’ Monday Texas Scorecard article here. Listen to prominent Texas libertarian Ron Paul and his co-host Daniel McAdams discuss this import resolution in the Tuesday episode of the Ron Paul Liberty Report here.
Simulation using world’s fastest supercomputer casts doubt on effectiveness in preventing spread of coronavirus Coronavirus – latest updatesSee all our coronavirus coveragePlastic face shields are almost totally ineffective at trapping respiratory aerosols, according to modelling in Japan, casting doubt on their effectiveness in preventing the spread of coronavirus. A simulation using Fugaku, the world’s fastest supercomputer, found that almost 100% of airborne droplets of less than 5 micrometres in size escaped through plastic visors of the kind often used by people working in service industries. News organizations can’t even question China’s involvement in the Novel Coronavirus without being censored. A Fox News article about Dr. Li-Meng Yan’s claims that China intentionally released the COVID-19 virus has been censored by Facebook with an interstitial, or filter. Facebook censored an article with the damning claim from a “top virologist and whistleblower” that “the Chinese government intentionally manufactured and released the COVID-19 virus that led to mass shutdowns and deaths across the world.” The Fox News article covered Dr. Yan’s appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight. Dr. Yan claimed: "I can tell you, this is created in the lab ... and also, it is spread to the world to make such damage." Facebook’s “False information” interstitial claimed that “This post repeats information about COVID-19 that independent fact-checkers say is false.” Upon clicking the “See Why” button, users see fact-checks such as “False: Baseless Conspiracy Theories Claim New Coronavirus Was Bioengineered” by FactCheck.org and “Fact check: Coronavirus not man-made or engineered but its origin remains unclear” by USA Today. In the interview, Dr. Yan cited her credentials: I work[ed] in the WHO reference lab, which is the top coronavirus lab in the world, in the University of Hong Kong. And the thing is I get deeply into such investigation in secret from the early beginning of this outbreak. I had my intelligence because I also get my own unit network in China, involved [in] the hospital ... also I work with the top corona[virus] virologist in the world. Fox News noted that “Yan's comments conflicted with the opinion of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and White House coronavirus adviser, who previously cast doubt on the idea the virus was artificially created.” The article continued: “In May, he told National Geographic: ‘If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats, and what's out there now is very, very strongly leaning toward this [virus] could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated — the way the mutations have naturally evolved.’” However, Fox News also acknowledged that Dr. Yan has exposed alleged cover-ups by the communist Chinese government before: Fox News previously reported on Yan back in July, when she blew the whistle on China's alleged attempts to suppress information about its handling of the virus. With a vast network of contacts in Chinese medical facilities, Yan attempted to gather more information about the virus as China blocked overseas experts from conducting research in the country. Twitter also allegedly censored Dr. Yan’s account this very week, Newsweek reported: “The social media profile of Dr. Li-Meng Yan, with just under 60,000 followers, went dark this week as the scientist claimed to have scientific evidence the Chinese government was involved in manufacturing the highly-infectious novel coronavirus.” Conservative leaders such as Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) raked Big Tech over the coals for supporting the WHO at a late-July hearing as “the organization that lied to us, the organization that shilled for China.” Jordan juxtaposed how WHO “can say whatever they want. They can lie for China, they can shill for China,” but “if you say something against them, you get censored.” Conservatives are under attack.
