SAY WHAT? Trump Haters Pile On a Stricken President

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Editor’s Note: Say What? is the segment of Liberty Nation Radio where we unveil some of the most wacky, astonishing, and damnable things uttered by politicians and the chattering class. Tim Donner: No doubt you uttered the title of this segment — “say what?” — when you woke up Oct. 2 to discover the president and first lady have COVID-19. The questions were many, and the drama was at peak level. ABC Reporter: Who else was exposed in the West Wing? Will the president’s senior advisors and the vice president also go into quarantine? … The campaign is totally frozen in time. And the president had a very crowded schedule of campaign events over the upcoming days. Also, the presidential debates, we’re supposed to have two more debates. We’re supposed to have a vice-presidential debate. Will those go on? Obviously, all of that is uncertain. CNN Reporter: This was a code red moment for the US government, before we even had these diagnoses from FLOTUS and POTUS … This may be the most dangerous moment that the US government has ever faced … The president is suffering from a deadly virus. This feels like something we should be watching on an episode of Homeland. Tim: A deadly virus, and the average age of death from COVID-19 is 78, most with underlying conditions. President Trump is 74 with a potentially troubling condition. And on MSNBC, Dr. Vin Gupta sounded the alarm, unsurprisingly taking the opportunity to blame the president for his disregard of COVID protocols. Dr. Vin Gupta: He has a significant co-morbidity, a risk factor in addition to his age, which is being overweight. The combination of the two … I’ve cared for several patients in the ICU who have that double whammy. They’re older and they’re overweight. They have a bad trajectory, meaning they start developing shortness of breath or a cough or fever. So this is a very serious situation for the president. Perhaps, the way he’s been behaving and messaging has been wrong. And now, he’s, unfortunately, bearing the brunt of that consequence. Tim: Well, that was a typical reaction from the elite media. And like all the other unprecedented crises voters have been forced to process in 2020, when deciding how to vote they will now have to figure the president’s physical condition into the mix. But the election campaign will continue in some form, depending on how Trump gets through this period of quarantine. And at the heart of the debate over this election are the prevailing ideologies of Trump and Biden and who controls the two parties. While we know what Trump is all about — he tells us every day in every way — how about Biden, an historically moderate candidate by Democrat standards who’s been all but held hostage by the rising tide of left-wing progressives in his party? When you vote for Biden, for what policies are you voting? The Democrat nominee said he won his party’s nomination because he was not a socialist like Bernie Sanders on many issues, but particularly health care. But Trump was having none of it in the first debate. Joe Biden: Biden wanted to allow people to have private insurance still. They can, they do. They will under my proposal. President Trump: That’s not what you’ve said. And it’s not what the party has said. Biden: That is simply a lie. Trump: Your party wants to go socialist medicine … Biden: My party is me. Trump: … and socialist health care … Biden: Right now, I am the Democratic Party. Trump: And they’re going to dominate you, Joe. You know that. Biden: I am the Democratic Party, right now. Tim: Trump says the left will dominate; Biden, in turn, says he is the Democratic Party, right now, even though he’s adopted positions far to the left of his own expressed ideology for almost 50 years. Only the voters can decide whether Biden is his own man or not. And only they can decide what to make of this much-debated question and the answer by Trump, on whether he would condemn white supremacists. And he ridiculed the idea that the rampant mob violence in cities across the land was anything but a product of far-left extremism. Trump: Who would you like me to condemn? Moderator Chris Wallace & Biden: White supremacists … Trump: Stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what, somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left, because this is not a right-wing problem. This is a left one. This is a left-wing problem. Biden: Antifa’s an idea, not an organization. Trump: Oh, you’ve got to be kidding. Tim: So Trump tells a fringe far-right group to stand back. But Biden actually denies the very existence of the domestic terrorist organization identifying as Antifa. Go ahead and ask any of the people who saw their communities destroyed if the Antifa organization exists. But if there was a single soundbite from the debate that Trump supporters would like to resonate and have legs, it revolved around the number 47. And former Bush 43 Press Secretary Ari Fleischer used it to deliver a devastating critique on Biden’s refusal to say whether he’d pack the Supreme Court with more progressives if he became president. Trump: In 47 months, I’ve done more than you’ve done in 47 years, Joe. Ari Fleischer: When he said I’ve done more in 47 months than you’ve done in 47 years, that was a pretty good way to sum everything up. And I still think that Joe Biden is leaving himself very vulnerable, because he just refuses to take a stand out of weakness. He acknowledges it. I won’t give you an answer on court packing or the filibuster, because I don’t want my answer to be the issue. What kind of leader or statesman answers a question like that? Tim: Indeed, the question of leadership is what voters must ultimately decide during these trying times. But leadership qualities and policy debates may in the end shrink, in comparison with the fight over the actual outcome of the election already being waged by both campaigns, before, during, and after the debate. Trump touts what he calls a scandalous distribution of unsolicited mail-in ballots while relying on the Supreme Court and the prospective new justice, Amy Coney Barrett, to bring it to a final resolution. The last Democrat nominee said a while back that Biden should never concede. And senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Dick Durbin of Illinois, took issue with Hillary. Trump: If it’s a fair election, I am a 100% on board. But if I see tens of thousands of ballots being manipulated, I can’t go along with that. Hey, they found ballots in a wastepaper basket three days ago, and they all had the name … Military ballots, they were military. They all had the name Trump on them … I think it’s better if you go before the election, because I think this scam that the Democrats are pulling, it’s a scam … The scam will be before the United States Supreme Court. And I think having a four-four situation is not a good situation. Hillary Clinton: Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out. And eventually, I do believe he will win, if we don’t give an inch. Dick Durbin: I disagree with Hillary Clinton. I respect her, I like her, but I think she’s just flat out wrong. If we are going to maintain a democracy, peaceful transition through an election is the only way to do it. Whoever the winner is, if it is clear and legal, that should be announced. And the other party should concede. Tim: It is actually conceivable that the loser of this election will never concede, because counting the expected deluge of mail-in ballots may take days or weeks. And courts in crucial swing states — Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin — have extended the deadlines for counting ballots to days past the election. ~ Read more from Tim Donner.

Media Spin, Bias and Deceit – Tools of the Tyrant on Display

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Two major political events took place on the evening of October 6. Former Vice President Joe Biden took part in an NBC town hall session, and President Trump returned to the White House from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Both were widely covered by the media, yet one had an aura of disgrace, and the other displayed sycophantic desperation that bordered on the absurd. No prizes for guessing which was congratulatory and which was rife with barely contained scolding. Biden Town Hall Billed by NBC as undecided voters putting the candidate to the test, the town hall appeared more a well-scripted platform for Biden to score political points. Opening with several direct questions on President Trump’s return to the White House, host Lester Holt asked, “Have the doctors been transparent, do you trust them?” This seemed an undisguised dig both at doctors who have given Trump the all-clear and at the president for daring to follow their recommendations. While lambasting the president for his reaction to Charlottesville, Biden trotted out the thoroughly debunked suggestion that Trump said there were “fine people on both sides” while referring to white supremacists. “No president has ever said that,” blustered Mr. Biden with faux outrage. And on this occasion, he was right; no president ever has, not even Mr. Trump. The only moment in the evening when Lester Holt had to offer a course correction to the presidential hopeful was when a questioner asked what three things a President Biden would do to unite the country. After a long walk down memory lane, Holt averred that the candidate was not getting to the heart of the question. Biden responded that, in his opinion, unity comes knowing that it is “always appropriate to question another man’s judgment but not their motive.” It seems in Biden-world, this adage does not apply to the president himself. As short breaks were announced, the supposedly “undecided voters” burst into “spontaneous applause,” putting the final nail in the charade’s coffin. Trump’s White House Return Receiving far more headlines than the cozy town hall was President Trump’s return from Walter Reed to the White House. Accompanied by a fanfare of dizzying headlines, the president’s return was condemned as not only “bizarre” but “dangerous” by media outlets attempting to paint this act as brazen disregard for safety and decency. “A Medicated Trump Made a Reckless Pronouncement,” read one headline from the self-described most trusted name in news. Medicated? In the opening paragraph, CNN described the president as being “strongly medicated,” clearly implying that he could not be in his right mind after such heavy doses of drugs. And lest the reader thinks that perhaps the article is merely stating uncomfortable truths, it goes on to suggest – with some clear hyperbole – that: “… still bare-faced, Trump, in scenes that would not have been out of place in totalitarian North Korea, walked into the presidential residence, contaminating the air inside.” Apparently, when you are Donald Trump, the act of walking into a building is congruent with being the leader of a controlling communist regime. The real anger, however, was reserved for the president’s statement. He said: “I could have left [Walter Reed] two days ago. Two days ago, I felt great like better than I have in a long time I said just recently, better than 20 years ago. Don’t let it [COVID-19] dominate. Don’t let it take over your life.” The call to not let the virus dominate lives has been spun out of all recognizability by a media determined to stoke fear and loathing. Calling the phrase a “reckless pronouncement,” “an embarrassment,” and “dangerous,” is neither an accurate assessment of what he said nor a genuine effort to inform readers. Different Strokes The evidence suggests that the media is carrying water for its chosen candidate. When one side can do no wrong, and the other can do no right in the ever-watchful eyes of a Fourth Estate that no longer suits its purpose, the journalistic world reaches a crisis point. Where can the public learn truthful information stripped of the partisan spin? In whom can a news-hungry nation place its trust to deliver the facts unvarnished? What we are witnessing is not merely the death of the old guard industry, but a fundamental shift away from credibility. The purveyors of partisan opinion dressed as news have spent their believability capital in a desperate lurch to shape the country in a way that is most undemocratic. Spin, bias, and even deceit are the tools of the tyrant, not the trusted. ~ Read more from Mark Angelides.

How Did Trump Jump-Start the Peace Process in the Middle East?

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here In 2016, Secretary of State John Kerry said “No. No, no and no … There will be no advance and separate peace with the Arab world without the Palestinian process and Palestinian peace.” Now, after a flurry of peace treaties in the Middle East, it appears that Kerry’s prediction didn’t age well. How was President Donald Trump able to do what all the so-called experts said was impossible? The Open-Wound Strategy In a brief few years after World War II, Jews garnered a burst of sympathy, even from the left, because of the Holocaust atrocities. During this period, the causes of Middle East conflict were well-understood and widely reported in an accurate way in the media. When the state of Israel was created on May 14, 1948, seven Arab nations invaded the country to exterminate what they called “the Zionist entity.” These were Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Transjordan, and Yemen. Against all the odds, Israel won. Rather than accepting defeat, the Arab nations pursued what was called an “open-wound strategy,” which consisted of keeping Palestinian Arabs in a perpetual state of captivity in “refugee camps” in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq to use them as weapons against Israel. The Arab neighbors didn’t give the refugees citizenship in Arab countries and refused to integrate them, not allowing them to work or get an education. Whenever they asked for citizenship, the Palestinians always got the same answer: You can have citizenship in your own land when the Zionist entity is destroyed. However, as the newly created state of Israel began to thrive, the left’s natural antagonism toward the successful and affinity for the weak led them in an ever more anti-Israeli direction. The Palestinians’ plight rose to the top of their list of concerns. Their suffering’s original causes were forgotten and suppressed in favor of a new narrative: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Arab nations faded into the background, although they remained the moral, political, and financial engine behind the war. The Right Timing Enter Trump. Like most well-educated Jews, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner likely knows the above history well. The odds are that he has thoroughly informed the president about the conflict. If so, Trump understands Kerry got it precisely backward: There will be no Palestinian peace without a broader Arab-Israeli peace. Only if the Palestinians lose their moral, political, and financial support for warfare from the Arab nations will they be sufficiently motivated to seek a peaceable agreement. Trump came to power at a time when many favorable factors for peace aligned. With his weak response to ISIS and the Iran deal, President Barack Obama shifted the regional power dramatically away from the Arab League nations. Suddenly, Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf nations faced ISIS in Syria and Iraq, as well as Iran-sponsored war in Yemen. Simultaneously, by removing Obama’s ban on fracking, Trump made the U.S. energy independent for the first time in 75 years. America no longer needed the Gulf nations. This radically shifted the negotiation cards in Trump’s favor. Saudi Arabia now knows that its oil hegemony is sunsetting and that it will have to survive by other means in the near future. The Gulf nations need stability in the Middle East to create the economic environment necessary for prosperity after the oil era. Creating Peace From Strength Qassem Suleimani Trump proved to the Arab nations that he was everything that Obama was not: decisive and ruthlessly effective while willing to negotiate. By wiping out ISIS and killing Iran’s top military leader Qassem Suleimani, Trump showed that he had the moral courage to risk a war with Iran. He also moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and recognized the Golan Heights as Israeli territory. By doing so, he gained the trust of Israel and proved to the Arab nations that he was a pillar of strength, which is the coin of the realm in the Middle East. Trump then did what he usually does: make an asset out of thin air. In this case, he used it to create peace in the Middle East. Equipped with the knowledge of the region’s power dynamics, he knew that peace with Palestinians was not necessary to make progress. Testing the Waters Bahrain is a close ally of Saudi Arabia, and it is almost unthinkable that it would sign the Abraham Accord without the consent of its large next-door neighbor. The normalization between Israel and Bahrain also involves flights between the two countries that cross Saudi air space. All of this indicates that a regionwide peace treaty, normalization of relations, and recognition of Israel are in the pipeline. If that happens, the Palestinians will suddenly be interested in joining the party. As unbelievable as it sounds, peace might suddenly break out in the Middle East, and it is hard to think of any other president under which this would have been possible. ~ Read more from Onar Åm.

NYT and Trump Taxes – False Flag or Full Fact?

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Did President Trump pay only a fraction of the taxes he owed? Is he using the tax system as a way of hoarding money like a dragon hoards gold? Or is the latest New York Times story that professes to have access to Trump’s tax returns just another misguided and malicious piece of fiction designed to hand the presidency to Joe Biden? On Sunday, the NYT published a damning series of articles that set out how much tax the president has paid based upon what it claims are the actual tax returns of Donald Trump. The pieces claim that they have “obtained tax-return data extending over more than two decades for Mr. Trump and the hundreds of companies that make up his business organization, including detailed information from his first two years in office.” The paper claims that its team of experts has analyzed documents, but that it will not publish them, and that the documents were supplied by a source that had legal access. But can this source be trusted? NYT Track Record Through June and July, the NYT’s grandest story was that of Taliban fighters being paid bounties by Russia to take down U.S. troops. This was a shockwave that – in the public mind – undid much of the work that President Trump has undertaken to ratchet down tensions with the former Soviet Union. If the president were ignoring such information, or worse, not acting on it, then surely this was a man not to be trusted? The only problem being, it looks like the story was totally false. Numerous high-ranking military figures, the Pentagon, and just about anyone who would be in the know, has stated categorically that they have not seen any evidence of such bounties. In fact, it seems that until certain media outlets began reporting on them, they just didn’t exist. And what of the climate change report that the NYT said may never be published under Trump’s presidency? The loyal reporters detailed that scientists – speaking on condition of anonymity, of course – were worried it was being “suppressed.” The Gray Lady boasted that it had managed to obtain a copy, all the while saying that the Trump administration was in the process of trying to stifle a damaging report. Except for the small fact that it had been publicly available for seven whole months and other newspapers had already reported on it. Even after realizing the error, the paper failed to remove such vignettes as: “Scientists say they fear that the Trump administration could change or suppress the report.” A Swift Response Alan Garten, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, was quick to rebut the story. He said: “The New York Times‘ story is riddled with gross inaccuracies.  Over the past decade the President has paid tens of millions of dollars in personal taxes to the federal government … While we tried to explain this to the Times, they refused to listen and rejected our repeated request that they show us any of the documentation they purport to be relying on to substantiate their claims.” And naturally, the president himself was not shy in giving his opinion, saying, “Its fake news, it’s made up … Everything was wrong, they are so bad.” So who is to be believed? Crying Wolf Jonathan Swift famously wrote: “Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it.” Whether or not the reporting from The New York Times turns out to be accurate, the damage is already likely done. What remains is how much or how little this story has an impact on the president and his election chances. Already we see media pundits and social media commentators calling Trump a criminal for his “tax avoidance,” and almost no one taking the time to correct the notion that tax avoidance is a crime. No one has yet to utter the words “tax evasion,” yet the sentiment already exists. With a long history of the Times throwing political grenades at the president, much of Trump’s base will be unconvinced by yet another story from anonymous sources and documents that the paper refuses to publish. Those who support Joe Biden already believe Trump to be a near-criminal. So it is unlikely that this story will have much impact. If the last three and a half years had not been littered with fake news stories and openly partisan reporting, allegations that Trump may have been less than truthful about his financial situation could have done him serious damage. But like the boy who cried wolf, the Times may have sown the seed of its own destruction.~ Read more from Mark Angelides. The Ugly Truth About the Campaign to End Mass Incarceration

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here A New York City man has been arrested for derailing a Manhattan subway train by tossing metal debris onto the tracks. The alleged perpetrator had been charged for attacking a city bus with a metal street barricade and smashing in windows only a couple of weeks earlier – and was released without bail. In Miami, a young man viciously assaulted a woman riding a subway train. The unprovoked beat down was caught on camera and showed the assailant punching the victim repeatedly and slamming her head into a wall and the seat. This same man reportedly went on to attack two other people in similar incidents on the Miami metro that same day. He was let out on $1,500 bond. It’s easy to see where the push to empty the prisons is going to lead. In fact, it is already happening. The movement to “end mass incarceration” will have a hard time convincing regular Americans of the efficacy of its campaign after they’re assaulted on their morning commute – or if the train itself careens off the rails – all because some dangerous criminal was allowed to run free in the name of some ill-defined “social justice” mantra. Cut Them Loose Activists who spearheaded a radical criminal justice reform bill through the New York state legislature in 2019 are still irate that their shiny new law was tapered back in the wake of a crime wave. “The law, which passed in April 2019, limited the number of crimes for which judges could set bail, mostly to violent felonies,” Politico reported. “Almost everyone else — those who make up 90 percent of arrests in the state — could walk free while they waited for their trial date.” The law took effect in January. After the New York City Police Department released a report stating that crime had risen 22.5% in February 2020 compared with February 2019, mounting public pressure led to a bail reform law swiftly being passed in April to scale back the free passes. “If we had been able to give those changes time and space to take hold, I’m very confident that we would have seen how right we were,” Scott Hechinger, a New York bail reform advocate, mourned. “The problem was, we didn’t have patience.” Despite the new bail reform law, it’s apparent that open-the-prisons advocates still wield significant clout. Why else would Demetrius Harvard be let go with no bail after smashing windows on a city bus? A man whose wife was on the train derailed by Harvard’s menacingly anti-social act stated the very crux of the matter that will prove so hard for progressive activists to overcome in the long run. “This has me so frightened for my wife, on the trains,” Prymnauth Persaud told The New York Post. “I am worried when she is on the subways now. We are all taking the subway. We all still have to work.” Yes, but some of us have comfortable ivory towers instead of cubicles. John Pfaff, a law professor at Fordham, wants to make it clear that his championing of a looser criminal justice system most certainly refers to violent criminals as well. “Our draconian approach toward violent crime rests on viewing certain people, and certain groups of people, as not fully human,” the professor opined in an audacious April 10 piece for The Washington Post. “This has always been a pressing concern in criminal justice reform; during the [Coronavirus] pandemic, it is a matter of life and death.” “It’s clear that we are a deeply punitive country, but it’s time to delve into the morality of severely penalizing violence,” Pfaff asserted. “Race and poverty inevitably play huge roles,” he stated. Privileged Victim? Pfaff labeled those who oppose ending bail and other reform measures as speaking for well-off Americans when discussing the threat to citizen safety: “But the ‘us’ the critics really speak for are mostly those who live in relatively wealthy, safe areas. For them, bail reform, expanded parole or any other significant shift in how we handle criminal justice seems as if it could (slightly) increase the (already small) chance of their being victimized, with no real direct upside, since the people being needlessly stopped, detained, jailed, charged, tried, convicted and imprisoned — and suffering all the harms those interactions create — are not their family members, not their friends, not their co-workers and not even their neighbors. Why, the thinking goes, should ‘we’ expose ourselves to risks that have no upside for ‘us’?” Thus we have the spectacle of a cozily ensconced university professor declaring from his lofty perch that Americans concerned about letting criminals run wild are the pampered privileged who callously refuse to consider the plight of the lower classes. Perhaps Pfaff should view the shocking video of Joshua James King pummeling a much smaller Andrea Puerta on the Miami Metromover transit line. It is unlikely that Puerta was riding the city rails because her Rolls Royce had broken down. She seems very much to represent one of the “communities of color” that Pfaff claims are unfairly targeted by high-priced bail. According to Local 10 News in Miami, “King, 25, punched Puerta, 29, more than 20 times during the Sept. 4 attack. He kicked, pushed, and slammed her headfirst. She suffered a concussion.” “I remember that I closed my hands and I said, ‘STOP! STOP! He did not stop,” Puerta told the news outlet. “There was a moment when he said, ‘Sorry’ and I looked at him and he punched me and after that, I don’t know what happened.” “I don’t know how I am alive,” she concluded. King proceeded to allegedly attack two other men on the rail service before being apprehended. Charged with three counts of aggravated battery charges, he was incomprehensibly released on a $1,500 bond six days later. The major problem here is easy to spot. The loudest voices calling for an end to “mass incarceration” are the same ones who see everything in the blinding prism of race. No one denies that reasonable arguments can be made to avoid locking up specific non-violent individuals based on certain alleged lower-level crimes. But when it comes to identity politics as practiced by the left, sweeping action must always be applied. Simply looking at what a perpetrator has allegedly done and then making appropriate and responsible judgments about the threat he poses to the general public cannot be allowed when we are all infected by our “systemic racism” and “innate privilege.” It all makes for easy sloganeering until the train rolls off the track. ~ Read more from Joe Schaeffer.

Breonna Taylor – Riots or Resolution?

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Louisville, KY, is poised for trouble. The three officers involved in the shooting of Breonna Taylor will have their fates decided this week by a grand jury convened by state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who will announce whether the police have been indicted or will go free. Protesters are ready to march, business owners are praying that their livelihoods will survive, and the city’s authorities are gearing up for a worst-case scenario. Antifa is no doubt prepared to deliver just that. AG Cameron will – at some point this week – announce the grand jury’s decision on criminally indicting the officers. City and law enforcement officials are taking no chances. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has put in place a “state of emergency” as officers have begun barricading roads and federal buildings are being boarded up. LMPD interim Chief Robert Schroeder spoke with press outlets Sept. 22 to explicitly state that they did not yet know the verdict and that all measures were precautionary. He said: “We just ask that people bear with us as we go through these unprecedented times … We felt these steps were necessary to help protect the public.” Schroeder also pointed out that although there have been no specific threats recorded at this time, he was “aware of all the social media rumors. But, nothing viable at this point.” The Background The Breonna Taylor case has forcefully gripped the attention of the American public and lawmakers alike. On March 13, police arrived at Taylor’s apartment to serve a “no-knock” search warrant related to a drug investigation. The officers say they knocked first, announcing who they were before breaking down the door. Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, states that he did not know who was coming into the apartment and opened fire, hitting one officer in the thigh; three officers responded with fire, killing Taylor in the process. Just one week ago, Louisville’s Metro Government settled with Taylor’s family to the sum of $12 million in a wrongful death lawsuit. However, the family’s lawyer, Benjamin Crump, has been very plain that he sees this as just a first step in full restitution: “Regardless of this landmark step on the journey to justice, we still are demanding that Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron bring charges immediately against the police officers that murdered Breonna Taylor. Immediately. This week. Justice delayed is justice denied. “The city leadership has done a significant step today, but now it is on Daniel Cameron and the attorney general of Kentucky’s office to bring charges, and at the very minimum … second-degree manslaughter charges, because we want full justice for Breonna Taylor, not just partial justice.” And while Crump is seeking a legal resolution, law enforcement and city officials are well aware that if protesters are not satisfied with the grand jury decision, things could turn nasty very quickly. Should the officers be charged with second-degree manslaughter, under Kentucky law, this is a Class C Felony and comes with a sentence of between five and ten years. A Powderkeg In Waiting The nation is watching very carefully. It would not be hyperbolic to suggest we would see a fresh outbreak of rioting if a criminal indictment against the officers is not delivered. AG Cameron is aware of this, LMPD is mindful of this, and surely those who sit on the grand jury know this. Liberty Nation’s Legal Affairs Editor Scott D. Cosenza weighed in on what is likely going on behind the scenes: “Sol Wachtler, who was the chief judge of the state of New York, famously said, ‘District attorneys now have so much influence on grand juries that, by and large, they could get them to indict a ham sandwich.’ The reason is that the DAs control the process in its entirety, and defendants have few rights. Grand juries operate in secret, and defendants have no right to examine witnesses or evidence or present a defense. The result is, as Wachtler says – any decent lawyer could get a mother to indict her children if they could present a case without a word said in defense. “This reality has led to increased distrust between the police and public, with a perception, at least, that pro-law and order district attorneys direct grand juries to ‘no-bill’ or refuse to issue charges against police suspected of misconduct, while directing indictments against those accused of crimes against police. The mob knows the grand jury is the DA’s tool, however, and is convinced that DA will use it for the benefit of the cops. For those who enjoy a bit of irony with the news, the purpose of grand juries is to ensure defendants are not harassed by unsupported charges.” Will AG Cameron and the grand jury make their decision based upon the probable fallout, or will they be as blind as Lady Justice and move forward based on the facts presented? ~ Read more from Mark Angelides.

The Purge, Pandemonium, and Riots

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here If you want to enact structural change within a society, short of an armed coup, what is the best method? It seems there is a group that, on the surface, believes that riots, looting, violence, and intimidation are the most practical tools available. But is this the reality of what we are seeing in the recent riots by Black Lives Matter and Antifa? Do they genuinely believe that the change they ostensibly want can be ushered in through demands of submission and conformity, or is there another aspect that a media afraid to face the facts is deliberately ignoring? From the dawn of history, the human race has known how to mete out violence. Sometimes justified, sometimes for petty gain, but it is a trait that has arguably shaped the historical record far more than any other. The capacity for violence is in our blood. Yet there is also an element of voyeurism for violent spectacle. Violence as Entertainment and Release The gladiatorial events of past ages indicate that watching violence enacted in front of us is a crowd-pleaser. One could argue that we lived in more brutal times, or that the societies that paid cold cash to watch the fighters in the Colosseum were not as civilized as today. But then remember the newsroom adage: If it bleeds, it leads. We have to ask a very simple question: Do the rioters believe their political demands will be met by burning down their own neighborhoods? It would take a pretty poor intellect to accept this as likely, so there must be something else. Is it possible that like the Romans of old, they want to engage in direct destruction for the sheer sake of it? Or perhaps they enjoy the spectacle element of such chaos? It’s worth looking at the attitude that we have as a modern society towards violence. Ask any civilized person, and they will likely trot out a pat answer that violence is the last resort – that violence is wrong – almost as though it had been drummed into them since kindergarten. But then look to our cultural tastes to spot the lie in denial. Millions of people pay good money to watch boxing matches. Even more fork over cash to watch exciting action movies that nowadays seem to be a series of set pieces – explosions, fistfights, gunfights – strung together with a thin veneer of story and flimsy characters. But perhaps most telling is a franchise that is as popular as it is captivating: The Purge. This 2013 movie, created by James DeMonaco, began life as a low budget horror tale of an American dystopia. It has spawned sequels galore and even a successful TV series. The plot describes a fictional future where in order to deal with crime, violence, and the like, the government allows one night a year where all crime is permitted. From murder to torture to theft and sex crimes, the citizens are encouraged to exercise their right to purge. But what precisely is this “purging”? The premise is that we each have an inbuilt mass of violence that needs to be expiated through a releasing surge of aggression, and it makes some sense, especially when we consider the world being created around us. Consider this: would this kind of movie have been so stupendously successful if it were made in the 1940s or ’50s? That generation had lived through a war, it had seen violence and bloodshed, and no one was left unaffected. It seems that they didn’t need the added thrill of simulated violence. But now we have safe spaces and an easily-assembled social media mob to join. If we don’t like someone’s opinion, we can have them canceled, punished, and in fear for their lives without ever having to leave the comfort of a parent’s basement. Yet these keyboard warriors are missing something. And perhaps that is that they don’t have a real challenge to face. Of course, some would argue that there is systemic racism, discrimination, or any other ism that happens to be the cause du jour, but a stark and frank look shows us that while discrimination exists in some areas, there is nothing systemic about it. Point to a law that discriminates against people for the color of their skin. Point to a politician who suggests that, because of a person’s sex, they are inferior or less deserving of equal rights. They just aren’t there. Truculent and angry souls are left itching, then, for a generational battle against an enemy that does not exist – and so they base their demands on false outrage and indignation. It is no wonder that we see so many examples of the mob attempting to force private citizens to murmur “black lives matter” or to raise their fists in solidarity. The Cowardice of the Mob It appears this is naught but a case of cowardice. Show me an individual, one man, or one woman standing against the crowd for what they believe, and you see courage and bravery. But when five, twenty or a hundred shout at and abuse an individual, all I see are cowards. These mobs are bullies that use the power of mobs to demand obedience and obsequiousness. Perhaps the protestors do not really seek to rebalance social justice, but rather to expiate their own feelings of inadequacy. Maybe they are just bullies seeking power over others while lacking the courage to go it alone. They seek to make victims of the individual through the tyranny of the mob. But there are brave people out there who will stand up to them. There are people of moral character and conviction who will not kneel, will not mumble sycophantic phrases under duress. And it is in these brave warriors that our future will be assured. ~ Read more from Mark Angelides.

Tech Tyranny: Playing TikTok-Toe with China

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Editor’s Note – As the technological realm becomes more pervasive, whom can we trust? Each week, Liberty Nation brings new insight into the fraudulent use of personal data, breaches of privacy, and attempts to filter our perception. On August 6, President Donald Trump issued two executive orders declaring that Chinese apps TikTok and WeChat would be banned 45 days later. As the deadline loomed over the weekend, both executive orders saw action with last-minute twists worthy of a Hollywood screenwriter. So, what’s going on in the technological game of Chinese chess? The Department of Commerce recently declared that, as of Sept. 20, U.S. transactions with both WeChat and TikTok would be prohibited. “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has demonstrated the means and motives to use these apps to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and the economy of the U.S.,” it reasoned. But was it ever going to be that easy? Court Says No To WeChat Ban As with so many Trump executive orders, these were bound to be challenged in the courts. Just hours before the WeChat deadline was to come into effect, a California federal court blocked the ban. Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler of the District Court in Northern California placed a preliminary injunction against the Department of Commerce, citing freedom of speech concerns. The key issue with the WeChat order is that, since China has itself banned many U.S. apps like Facebook and WhatsApp, WeChat is one of the only providers which enables communication between people on the Chinese mainland and those overseas. It’s also the one that Chinese-speakers with little English know how to use. A lawsuit was brought against the order by the U.S. WeChat Users Alliance, a non-profit initiated by five lawyers of Chinese descent, who say the ban is a free speech issue. The Alliance posits that the executive order violates the First Amendment by outlawing a critical means of speech and communication among certain communities. It was on these grounds that Judge Beeler ruled for an injunction, stating: “Certainly the government’s overarching national-security interest is significant. But on this record — while the government has established that China’s activities raise significant national security concerns — it has put in scant little evidence that its effective ban of WeChat for all U.S. users addresses those concerns. And, as the plaintiffs point out, there are obvious alternatives to a complete ban, such as barring WeChat from government devices, as Australia has done, or taking other steps to address data security.” WeChat, otherwise known as Weixin, is an instant messaging app widely used within China. That’s not all it does, though – it has a few other social media features such as the ability to post “moments,” and a “shake” function that allows users to locate other WeChatters nearby and meet up. More fundamental uses include accessing public utilities and one’s online ID card, taking public and private transport, and of course, the ubiquitous WeChat Wallet, which connects to users’ bank accounts and facilitates cashless financial transactions. It is also a host for China’s Coronavirus tracking app, which determines where people are allowed to go based on their health scores. Owned by tech giant Tencent, WeChat has slowly been evolving from a simple social media app to an all-encompassing one-stop shop for conducting modern life in the Middle Kingdom. TikTok Deal – Is It What Trump Wanted? As soon as Trump suggested he might bar TikTok unless it sold its American operations to a U.S. company, speculation erupted about what would become of the video-hosting app. Microsoft entered the running to buy a branch of the company, but those negotiations went down the drain after it apparently annoyed China by referring to TikTok’s present iteration as a security risk. Now, it appears software company Oracle will team up with Walmart to take on a purchase of TikTok – or will they? After expressing early misgivings about the pitch, Trump on Sept. 19 came out in favor of the potential deal, giving it his “blessing.” He touted the financial benefits for the U.S., including billions in taxes, 25,000 jobs, and funding for education. “Conceptually, I think it’s a great deal for America,” he added. “Security will be 100%.” “It will be a brand new company, it will have nothing to do with any outside land, any outside country, it will have nothing to do with China, it’ll be totally secure, that’ll be part of the deal,” the president stated. However, observers were quick to point out that the existing proposal falls short of Trump’s demand that U.S. operations be taken entirely out of Chinese hands. The offered deal says Oracle will become a “trusted technology provider” investing in a joint venture rather than becoming the new owner of a company. Under the prospective deal, a new company would be set up, TikTok Global, to be 80% owned by ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company) with Oracle and Walmart picking up 20% before an initial public offering on the stock market within 12 months. ByteDance also cast doubt on the education fund highlighted by Trump, saying that was the first the company had heard of it. Oracle has said, however, that it will contribute to education by working with TikTok “to develop and deliver an AI-driven online video curriculum to teach children from inner cities to the suburbs.” With ByteDance retaining majority ownership in the U.S., can it really be said that TikTok will no longer be a Chinese operation? China Starts to Play Trump at his Own Game Reuters recently reported that China would rather face a TikTok ban than sell part of the app to a U.S. entity. The China Global Television Network, a state-owned broadcaster, stated no sale would occur. In a rather Trumpesque move, the Chinese Communist Party in late August inserted itself into the furor by expanding its technology export rules. It demanded that companies seek approval from the state before selling certain types of technology to overseas buyers. This includes the kind of algorithm TikTok relies on to draw millions of users down a rabbit hole of suggested videos based on individual preferences. Essentially, China may not let ByteDance sell its key algorithms without first obtaining a government license, if at all. Under the proposed deal, Oracle will not gain ownership of TikTok’s technology, but it will be allowed to conduct security inspections on it. The move is part of a broader CCP trend of attempting to gain greater influence over China’s tech entrepreneurs. A Sept. 15 memo released by the CCP’s central committee urged a strengthening of “political thinking guidance of personnel in the private sector,” as reported by Xinhua. To add to the tension, China also announced that it‘s come up with an “unreliable entities list” of foreign “enterprises, other organizations and individuals” that it may blacklist – although it didn’t divulge any specific plans. The move was seemingly formulated to mirror U.S. policies that have targeted Chinese entities such as tech provider Huawei. The results of this dispute will likely impact the future of technology between two superpowers, and signal where dominance will lie over the next decades. As each country makes its moves, the situation is starting to resemble a high-stakes game of chess, or Xiangqi. That’s all for this week from Tech Tyranny. Check back next Monday to find out what’s happening in the digital realm and how it impacts you. ~ Read more from Laura Valkovic.

Replacing RBG: Progressive Paper Tigers Threaten More Violence

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Progressives in the corporate media couldn’t wait until the body was cold before they started threatening more political violence in response to the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The judge’s passing has opened up another seat on the highest court in the land and has drastically raised the stakes on an already tumultuous election season. But this development does raise a critical question: Will the conflict over Ginsburg’s seat result in more riots and looting? Leftists Threaten More Violence Over Ginsburg In the hours following Ginsburg’s demise, progressives on the internet resorted to calling for and threatening more widespread violence if President Donald Trump and Republicans in the Senate seek to confirm a new justice before the election. As the day went on, even more incitements began to pop up on social media from angry progressives fearing that the president will seat another judge who will protect the country from rabid leftists, legislating from the bench. Reza Aslan Former CNN contributor Reza Aslan, who became infamous for being sued for his nasty comments about Nick Sandmann, predictably added his voice to those calling for riots. “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f*cking thing down,” he tweeted. Progressive writer Laura Bassett also chimed in, claiming that there would be more violence if the Senate confirms another justice. “If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots,” she wrote in a tweet. Dr. Jessie Christensen, an Australian astrophysicist, threatened to join in on the violence as well. “IF THEY RAM THROUGH AN APPOINTMENT IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS I WILL RIOT. This is an actual nightmare,” he tweeted. Professor Emmett Macfarlane tweeted: “Burn Congress down before letting Trump try to appoint anyone to SCOTUS.” Author Beau Willimon insisted that “We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election.” Empty Threats Or Cause For Concern? While it seems clear that some of the individuals predicting riots in response to a potential confirmation of a new justice are engaging in hyperbole, the widespread unrest that has swept American cities over the past few months indicate that these remarks should be taken seriously. At this point, the anarchy being perpetrated by the far-left has ceased being about the death of George Floyd. In fact, it was likely never about him in the first place. Currently, Antifa operatives are destroying communities simply to push their anti-government agenda. Of course, it isn’t the existence of government that has inspired them to violence — it is the desire to replace the state with an authoritarian apparatus molded and shaped in their image. More violence may break out if the president and Senate manage to push through another confirmation. But in reality, these threats do not have teeth, as every thinking person understands that the buffoons engaging in the rioting and looting aren’t going to stop if Republicans acquiesce to their demands. Put simply, if they’re going to act like childish thugs either way, why should anyone listen to them at all? ~ Read more from Jeff Charles

Why Is George Soros Above Scrutiny – Even on Fox News?

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click HereGeorge Soros During a recent episode of the FOX news daytime program Outnumbered, guest Newt Gingrich was interrupted as he spoke about the phenomenon of district attorneys nationwide freeing alleged violent offenders back onto the streets. His sin, it appears, was mentioning billionaire progressive George Soros. When co-host Harris Faulkner gave Gingrich the “last word” in a discussion of the issue, the former speaker of the House stated: “The Number one problem in almost all the cities is George Soros-elected, left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys, who refuse to keep people locked up.” Gingrich elaborated: “Just yesterday, they put somebody back on the streets who’s wanted for two different murders in New York City.” He went on to suggest that these progressive D.A.s were “overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’s money.” Soros’ Name Sparks An Awkward Moment Melissa Francis At that point, apparently not content to allow Gingrich the last word, after all, Fox News commentator Melissa Francis interjected: “I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this.” Gingrich was clearly flummoxed by the unusual exception taken by Francis and attempted a rejoinder, saying: “He paid for it. I mean, why can’t we discuss the fact that millions of dollars….” Gingrich was again interrupted – this time by FNC’s Marie Harf – who curiously backed her colleague when she repudiated Gingrich’s assertion about Soros, stating: “No, he didn’t. I agree with Melissa. George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation.” Gingrich was thus scolded by a T.V. news personality who was in middle school when he became Speaker of the House. Possibly feeling undercut for flouting secret directives of which he was unaware, Gingrich alluded to Teutonic obeyance of authority when he said he understood the topic was “verboten” – German for “forbidden.” A nearly 7-second silence followed this – an epoch in broadcasting – during which Harris Faulkner was clearly at a loss and invoked the need to “move on” as a remedy for the awkward, surpassingly strange segment. So what happened? Behind the Soros Censorship The impression left by these FNC personalities was that they may have been informed by their direct superiors that George Soros has the money, the will, and the inclination to bankrupt FOX News if his name is ever mentioned on-air in a negative light. Soros’ far left field activism and his funding of progressive district attorneys all over America are no state secret – so why was Gingrich chastised for referencing these facts? Possibly FOX made a corporate decision not to allege Soros wants criminals released onto the streets without proof, just because he funded the District Attorneys who are liberating these detainees. Gingrich was clearly stating that many big-city D.A.s have been elected with Soros’ money, which he believes is contributing to the violence as these uber left-wing progressives are freeing law-breakers across the country. That is his opinion and one to which he is entitled – even as his hosts attempted to censure him. It also has a distinct ring of truth. George Soros Could it be that the Outnumbered talking heads are concerned about charges of antisemitism with references to a billionaire of Jewish descent bankrolling various progressive organizations? Certainly, antisemitism is a pervasive bigotry that appears to be in the midst of a relative resurgence, so maybe the need to skirt anything that might be deemed incendiary along such lines was at the heart of the curious exchange? Soros is a private citizen who is unelected, so the limited latitude accorded journalists in being able to take off the gloves when discussing him may also have been part of the calculus. Additionally, it’s difficult to think of George Soros and Nick Sandmann in the same breath, but they are both private citizens entitled not to be slandered on air by a corporation. The younger man’s highly successful lawsuits against CNN and The Washington Post for defaming him may have the legal department at FOX on high alert mode. But was it possibly fear at the end of the day that caused this unusual call to the carpet of a storied conservative? The amount of influence and control that can be bought with billions of dollars is not inconsiderable. Were there threats made behind the scene to which none of us was privy? Is FOX merely trying to dot their ‘i’s’ and cross their ‘t’s’ so that no one says anything actionable in the run-up to the election? After all, Tucker Carlson has been the subject of multiple attempts by the left to cancel him and his show, so maybe the word is getting around at FOX to avoid the overtly controversial? Or possibly those rules apply to daytime programming on FNC while the prime-time pundits have more freedom? In any event, as the only conservative cable news network in the country with a huge, nationwide audience, Fox has a charge and a duty to be intrepid. If they’re not sure what that looks like, they need only tune in to their colleague Tucker Carlson’s show every night as he damns the torpedoes and moves full steam ahead toward election day 2020. ~ Read more from Pennel Bird.

The Politics of HollyWeird: J.K. Rowling’s ‘Transphobic’ New Release?

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Editor’s Note: Whether on screen or off, Hollywood can always be counted on to keep us entertained. This is especially true when it comes to politics. Join us each week as we shine the spotlight on Tinsel Town’s A-listers and their wacky and sometimes inspiring takes on today’s current events. J.K. Rowling Spreading Transphobia J.K. Rowling’s newest book, Troubled Blood, is garnering scathing reviews for promoting transphobia. The fifth installment in the Cormoran Strike series, written under the pen name Robert Galbraith, centers on the cold case of a woman who disappeared in 1974 and is suspected of being one of the victims of a transvestite serial killer, Dennis Creed. “One wonders what critics of Rowling’s stance on trans issues will make of a book whose moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress,” criticized The Telegraph in a review. The negative write-up started a new hashtag wave of #RIPJKRowling. Vanity Fair said Rowling is “expressing her transphobic opinions” on social media and her website and “now appears to be bringing her TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) logic to a bookshelf near you … ” The publication also pointed out that this isn’t the first time the writer has delved into transphobia. The Silkworm, it said, has a female character, Pippa, stalking detective Strike and then trying to stab him. Strike thwarts that attempt, “revealing her identity as a trans woman, with Rowling adding in a description of her Adam’s apple and hands.” That’s a bit of a petty complaint considering a writer’s job is to paint a picture with words, and describing the way a character looks, whether bald or with an Adam’s apple, hardly screams transphobia. As for the rest of the book, that will be up to Rowling’s fans to decide. Cuties or Child Exploitation? Conservatives Incite Panic, According to Writer By now you must have heard about the Netflix-streamed movie Cuties in which an 11-year-old Muslim girl rebels against the constraints of her conservative family and joins a girl dance group. Not just any kind of dance, though. No, these pre-teen adolescents are twerking, gyrating, and displaying inappropriate behavior (unless you’re a stripper of legal age), all while the cameras zoom in on their bottoms and suggestive moves. The film has received a lot of backlash, and rightly so, but somehow a Rolling Stone writer wrote a piece blaming conservatives for causing hysteria and being too sensitive. “How ‘Cuties’ Is Fueling the Far Right’s Obsession With Pedophilia,” written by EJ Dickson, has the accusatory subtitle: “The fight against sex trafficking has become politicized, and the misplaced outrage could be protecting actual child predators.” The writer criticizes Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for calling for an investigation of Netflix for the obscene film and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) for her tweet that the film “will certainly whet the appetite of pedophiles and help fuel the child sex-trafficking trade.” Dickson turned the responses to the movie into an us-or-them scenario, saying: “In the hands of the film’s detractors, the discourse surrounding Cuties morphed from that of a complex film addressing faith, race, and sexuality, to a war between two opposing groups, one with obvious moral leverage over the other: those who support child sexual exploitation, and those who do not.” “Sexuality” should not be associated with 11-year-old girls, and normalizing stripper moves sends a dangerous message, exploits children, and exposes them to sexual predators. Those on the left who embrace Dickson’s views seem to be blinded by the hate-the-conservatives campaign and can’t see what this kind of movie promotes. “Accusing leftists of pedophilia has become the latest rhetorical cudgel among those on the far right,” Dickson wrote. You don’t have to be far right, or even a conservative, to see what’s wrong with Cuties. Instead of understanding the dangers of this film, the left seems to condemn its critics as small-minded Puritans. Director Maïmouna Doucouré defended the movie, saying it was “feminist” and was meant to bring awareness about sexualization of children – in a film that visually sexualizes them, of course. “It’s bold, it’s feminist, but it’s so important and necessary to create debate and try to find solutions, for me as an artist, for politicians and parents. It’s a real issue,” she said. Exploiting children, in other words, to raise awareness of exploiting children. The Rolling Stone writer wasn’t finished, making the gigantic leap of comparing conservatives’ disgust over Cuties with “satanic panic” — a moral hysteria about alleged widespread satanic ritual abuse, particularly in the 1980s. First, Dickson called out Newsweek for writing about the movie with a statement from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, which Dickson claimed was done “without noting the organization’s roots as a religious right-wing group.” She went on to say that “one of the major differences between the Satanic panic and the current age of hysteria is that pedophilia allegations are being utilized in a hyper-specific and politicized way” and that “pedophilia allegations are a fairly common tactic used to discredit political enemies of the Putin regime in Russia.” Leave it to the left to insert a Russian collusion conspiracy into a child exploitation outcry. Cheers and Jeers Sometimes, HollyWeird players make headlines for silly or bizarre happenings, so here is a collection of newsworthy doings — honorable and dishonorable — by the tenants of Tinsel Town. Kevin Spacey Sued for Sexual Assault Kevin Spacey Two people have filed a lawsuit against actor Kevin Spacey, alleging sexual misconduct and assault and battery. One of the purported victims is anonymous and the other is Anthony Rapp, who played Lieutenant Commander Paul Stamets in Star Trek: Discovery. Rapp said he was 14 when he experienced several instances of inappropriate behavior from the senior actor, such as Spacey reportedly climbing on top of him and trying to perform a sex act in 1986. Rapp also claimed the two had oral sex and intercourse. “My stomach churns,” Rapp said. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.” Spacey said he has no memory of the incidents. “If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” he said. Tune in next week to see what else Tinsel Town has planned. ~ Read more from Kelli Ballard.

Lectures From Hell II: Truth Is a lie

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here Editor’s Note: Recently, Liberty Nation received extraordinary documents from DiaboLeaks containing lectures straight out of hell. They provide unique insight into the inner workings and machinations of devils in infiltrating and corrupting the minds of humans. Each week, we will post a different Lecture from Hell. The demonic influence revealed is shocking. This short parody was inspired by the wonderful work of C.S. Lewis in his entertaining and enlightening epistolary novel, The Screwtape Letters, written in 1942.  My dear gentledevils, The Enemy has a most seductive message: Truth. Being the Creator and all, He has rigged the game so that the humans find evidence of truth everywhere they look. It makes our challenge of world domination exceedingly difficult. But Our Father Below knows the real truth – that the truth is a lie. There is no objective truth, only narrative. Those who have the power will be able to tell the stories that humans believe. Indeed, that is why you have been so carefully selected to this elite university. You will be trained in the art of seducing your patients to believe the stories you are whispering to them. If they believe you, you own them. If you can keep them in your grip long enough until they join the spiritual realm in death, you have secured your dinner. Feasting on their souls will be your reward. Some of you may now be confused, thinking that I have stated a contradiction. How can a truth be a lie? Savor that feeling because it is precisely how we defeat the Enemy. If we can make the humans believe contradictions, their confusion and cognitive dissonance will cloud their judgment. If they cannot think straight, they are easier to seduce and control. When I say that the truth is that truth is a lie, it is really a shorthand for Diabolical Correctness (D.C.). We are all subjects of Our Father Below. We are in his grip, and he has his ways of punishing those who stray away from what he dictates to be D.C. Contradiction is just another word for conflict, and it pleases Father much if we can turn the whole world into a battlefield. But the Enemy has stacked the cards against us. As the Creator, He has woven the red thread of His Truth through every being and existent in the universe. It makes the world inconveniently logical and comprehensible. However, He made a grave error. He created the humans with free will. They have the capacity to be disobedient, to go against their nature, to corrupt their souls and disavow the truth. That is the backdoor Our Father Below used all those eons ago in the Garden of Eden. The vermin made a deal with the devil: They traded their boring existence in the Garden with exciting new knowledge and discoveries. All he wanted in return was their disobedience to the Enemy. We cannot force the humans to do anything. They must choose it. But we can influence them. We have had thousands of years of practice to perfect our craft of temptation. I am pleased to tell you that we have managed to harvest many a soul over the ages. Our success demonstrates the power of Our Father Below and that the truth can be overcome by sheer willpower. In our next lecture, I will introduce you to one of our most powerful methods of persuasion: word control. Until next time, Professor Thornside ~ Read more from Onar Åm.

Spin and Deceit – From Aztecs to America

Please respect our republishing guidelines - Click Here The political Spin Doctors of our age seem all-powerful and untouchable. They are tasked with presenting one side of a story and, if possible, making the other side appear ludicrous. They are known in Britain as Masters of the Dark Arts and in America, are classed under the innocent moniker of public relations experts. Perhaps the British version is more true to form, as this role is not only one filled with devious practitioners but is archaic in its historical principles. History is written by the victor, but more rightly, history is written by the PR people of the victor, and only if the said victor has enough to pay the fee. This Machiavellian calling has shaped our nations. The narratives and stories we believe are, in many cases, not the correct form of fact, but rather a packaged version, suitable for soundbites and ease of consumption. The fruits of these spin doctors are evident yet ephemeral, and unless we are aware of their actions, it is all but impossible to discern the actual truth. As the author and historian Stuart Ewen wrote: “The history of PR is… a history of a battle for what is reality and how people will see and understand reality.” When Donald Trump won the 2016 election, that very night, the wheels were put in motion: Trump was in league with Putin, and the Russians had stolen the election. This myth has become so pervasive that even today, after the Mueller report, after countless investigations, and even as the FBI are exposed as partisan investigators skirting close (if not beyond) the law, many still believe the initial tale. When all evidence runs to the contrary, it is still the spin that persists. Remember, when House Democrats sought to impeach the president, they did not use the Russiagate angle. And now we see these Masters of the Dark Arts preparing the next big hoax: The Red Mirage. We have been given an apparently earnest warning: while Donald Trump may appear to win by a landslide on election night, the mail-in ballots will show that Joe Biden handily won once the final votes are counted. This could be many, many weeks later. Naturally, a lot of people assume that Democrat operatives will take this extra time to cheat and create the necessary number of additional ballots for victory. It is a possibility, though a slim one. There is a more likely Red Mirage narrative, though. If President Trump wins a second term, the votes that were either not sent in on time or were lost will be used to question the legitimacy of his next four years in the White House. In 2016, unhappy losers said Trump was an illegitimate president because of the Russian “collusion” allegation; from 2021 onwards, he will be deemed illegitimate because of the ballot confusion that will – with absolute certainty – arise. And who is it who will sell this idea to the American public? The spin doctors. In 1984, The New York Times wrote: “A dozen men in good suits and women in silk dresses will circulate smoothly among the reporters, spouting confident opinions. They won’t be just press agents trying to impart a favorable spin to a routine release. They’ll be the Spin Doctors, senior advisers to the candidates.” This was the first printed word on spin doctors, so called – presumably – because they “spin” a yarn. But the actual act of pushing a narrative through well-chosen words and deeds is as old as history itself. Perhaps one of the most effective exercises in spin came about during Hernan Cortés’ conquest of the Aztec world from 1519. Cortés and Moctezuma It has become fashionable of late to minimize the actions of Cortés and his band of 500 men in their wars against the Maya and Aztec people. Those who decry every facet of empire building and colonialism have tried to rewrite history, suggesting that the natives were not as brutal or bloodthirsty as the incredibly well-documented expedition portrays. It is only within the last couple of years that those who were once so vociferous in such assertions are quietly backpedaling. Now that archeologists have discovered skull racks and mass graves of sacrificed unfortunates, it seems that the writings of the time may have even understated the horror that took place in that civilization. This is not to say that Cortés and his men were not themselves brutal. These were hard men, soldiers, intent on plunder and conquest. It is a truth that sometimes, there are no good guys and bad guys in a story. Sometimes, everyone is bad. What has this to do with spin? Well, here we have some questions. How was it possible for a small group of soldiers – around 400 – to defeat a Mayan army of 40,000? And how did it come to be that the leader of the Aztecs, Moctezuma, a man who could bring half a million fearless warriors to the field, not manage to stop Cortés from entering his fabled city and bringing the population to its knees? There is a naïve school of thought that puts it down to superior weaponry, but this is highly unlikely. While it gave Cortés a significant advantage in some situations, when warriors of such huge numbers throw themselves into battle, it would have been impossible to withstand. Cortés was able to achieve what he did because of careful spin that he used to create both fear and loyalty. And it all started because of a convenient story. The people of the region believed in gods. Originally they worshipped a god of peace, Quetzalcoatl, who was chased from their shores by the god of war, Hummingbird. He vowed to return in what’s known as a Reed One Year – coincidentally the year the Spanish landed. The legends told that Quetzalcoatl – who was white-skinned and had a full beard, would return on ships that needed no paddles and would bring an end to human sacrifice, overthrowing the blood-hungry Hummingbird. Presumably, this would include the downfall of those who worshipped in blood sacrifice. When Cortés arrived, he could not know that the people would think he was the human embodiment of Quetzalcoatl, nor of the power such a story would have. It wasn’t until a slave was presented to him, Malinche – nowadays known as Dona Marina. She was a young woman of likely noble birth and education, sold into slavery, and presented as a gift to the newcomers. Still, her knowledge of the country and her language skills made her a more valuable asset than any at the time could have imagined. It is thought that she told Cortés of the legends of Quetzalcoatl, and how to use it to his advantage. It seems that she even encouraged him only half to deny his godhood when asked, thus making all he encountered wary. It was a combination of carefully crafted spin and half-truths that cowed many challengers and allowed him to build alliances with many of the non-Aztec people. It didn’t hurt that Moctezuma was a ruthless killer of thousands and enslaver of more. By using this narrative, Cortés gained where he should have lost, became stronger when he should have been made weak. And eventually, it led him straight into the path of Moctezuma. So many people have tried to dissect the first encounter between Moctezuma and Cortés. In recent years, the idea that the Aztec leader was using a “polite” form of noble speech, which was the opposite of its stated words to imply that he did not see the Spaniard as a God. But this ignores many crucial facts. First, Malinche was an educated woman who spoke many languages fluently; how would she have not known the Aztec dialect patterns when she was translating every word? Second, again, with credit to Malinche, when Moctezuma asked point-blank if Cortés was a god, he responded, “no.” Strange right? Unless you know that Aztecs regarded gods as tricksters and that denying his godliness was exactly, precisely what a God would answer. There is a multitude of other reasons why it is more likely that Moctezuma believed the legends rather than the modern interpretation that he was speaking in the form of opposites. Still, perhaps the most convincing argument is that he was treated like a god when in the famed Aztec city. Why else would a foreign invader who was nothing but a man, be welcomed into the city, given the most lavish rooms in the palace, and then be left alone enough to prepare for seizing power from the throne? All that Cortés achieved, rightly or wrongly, was made possible by quiet words and subtle spin. He was opportunistic, he said the right words at the right time, he dropped hints and innuendo, and it won him an empire. When we think about the spin doctors of today, are they too not using quiet words and subtle spin, hints, sly references, and even outright lies, all to seize power? Perhaps we think the world is too sophisticated to fall for political half-truths, and if so, we are precisely the target audience. Cortés did not fool Malinche; she did not think him a god. She saw him as a way of ending a culture that reveled in cannabilism, slavery, and human sacrifice, and Cortés was happy to be used as it tied in with his ambitions of gold and conquest. Look to our politics, examine each statement, and the motivations of those who utter them. Are they the words of honest souls or the carefully packaged spin, designed by experts to play on your deepest fears or hopes, and to use the conditioning of your entire life to turn you into a tool for their paymasters’ ends? ~ Read more from Mark Angelides.
