Australia’s national rugby team, the Australian Wallabies, have decided not to kneel during the national anthem as a gesture of support for the Black Lives Matter movement after a unanimous vote by the players. Wallabies coach Dave Rennie, with the support of Rugby Australia, confirmed the decision on Friday. Rennie said the team discussed the matter at a team camp in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley prior to their decision, which will affect the Bledisloe Cup Test in Sydney where they will face the New Zealand All Blacks next Saturday, Oct. 31. The decision not to kneel comes after the Wallabies veteran fullback Dane Haylett-Petty on Thursday said that the team was considering to discuss the issue. (Dave Rowland/Getty Images) “I think it’s great,” Haylett-Petty said, reported news.com.au. “I think sport has an amazing opportunity to have a say and join conversations and a lot of sports have done that and it would be a great thing for us to do.” But former Wallabies player Nick Farr-Jones warned against the decision and said it could be a “divisive move.” In a teleconference on Friday, Rennie announced that the team would not kneel in a silent protest. “We met with the leaders and then the leaders met with the rest of the team and it’s a unanimous decision,” Rennie said. “The key thing is that this is about honouring our Indigenous people and we want the focus to be on that.” The Australian team will wear a First Nations jersey during the game against New Zealand next Saturday. “Everyone has got their own opinions around the other situation but we want the focus to be around reflecting on our history and our past,” Rennie added. “All I’ve said is that our focus is around the First Nations people and the Indigenous jersey. We’re not looking to make a political statement.” The upcoming Oct. 31 game will mark the second time the Wallabies will wear their Indigenous jersey in Australia, and the fourth time overall in a Test match since its introduction in 2017. No other national Australian sports team dons an Indigenous jersey. Rugby Australia, the governing body of rugby union in Australia, supported the decision. “Rugby Australia and the Wallabies condemn any form of racism or discrimination and also acknowledge that we are still on the path to reconciliation,” Rugby Australia interim CEO Rob Clarke said on Friday, according to rugby.com.au. “The First Nations jersey is a strong statement in itself. It has a truly global impact in raising awareness and in recognising the issues facing First Nations people. Rugby Australia and the Wallabies are incredibly proud to wear it, what it means and who it represents. “I’m really pleased the players and management have come together to speak about this, as they would with other important social issues. It was measured, appropriate and mature and I congratulate the team as they explore more opportunities to recognise issues facing First Nations people and all Australians.” The BLM movement took headlines around the world following the death of George Floyd who died in police custody in May. Taking a knee has been used across different arenas, including sport, as a way to show support for the movement, with some seeing it as a way to denounce racism. U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the movement is “discriminatory” and “bad for black people.” He told Fox News in late August that companies that have donated money to the cause are “led by weak people” before describing BLM as a Marxist organization. Black Lives Matter Global Network co-founder Patrisse Cullors said in a 2015 interview that both she and Alicia Garza, another co-founder, are “trained Marxists.” Earlier this year, the Australian cricket team opted not to kneel for the BLM movement before their series against England in September. Australian captain Aaron Finch told TelegraphSport that “The education around it is more important than the protest.” “We are not going to do specific gestures like it has happened in the past,” he said. “For us, we are really proud to play a game where it is celebrated all around the world and anyone can play it. It doesn’t matter what race, what religion, what nationality you are from. Cricket is a game for everyone and I am really proud about that.” Zachary Stieber contributed to this report.

I was sitting here thinking recently about how the media has to know that their candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden, is on track to lose in a couple of weeks. As you have seen for the last three years or so, the media’s go-to reaction is to throw a tantrum to fuel their spite and hatred for President Trump. Democrats on all levels are very childish at heart. It’s like a younger sibling being insanely jealous of the other’s success and trashing his or her bedroom for retaliation. I hope that there will be a swift end to the violence and lots of arrests. I think that everyone is expecting lots of both once the election ends and Trump has won. Commentary Why do African-Americans so often let left radicals lead them? The gulf between the real interests of the two groups is huge. What American blacks need is to prosper and move up into the economic and societal mainstream, but left radicals hate that mainstream and want to tear it down. So if blacks get what they need, radicals lose; while if radicals get what they want, blacks lose. Which means that the last people blacks should ever join forces with are radical leftists. The radicals who call themselves Black Lives Matter (BLM) illustrate the point. When violent BLM demonstrations destroy black businesses and neighborhoods, and their demonization of police causes a spike in black deaths, BLM doesn’t change course to stop the carnage. The issue of race certainly matters to BLM, but not in any way that benefits blacks. It matters chiefly because it gives them both numbers and a respectable issue. By themselves, radicals wouldn’t have the numbers they need to exert any serious influence, and none of their core issues resonate with the public in the way that racial fairness does. Radicals want to remake our society, and to do that they need to persuade the public that its present state needs tearing down. They know that they’ll never be able to get most people to believe that our free-market economy is the heart of society’s evil (though that’s what they’re really after), but if they can persuade them that society is full of vile racism, they make progress: The case for radical change advances. But American blacks don’t advance this way: Their neighborhoods, livelihoods, and confidence in progress are destroyed. Much of this starts on college campuses, so it’s not surprising that higher education illustrates well the complete mismatch between the interests of black students and left radicals. Radicals have achieved what they want on the campuses: politicized classrooms where activists can preach their ideology without institutional resistance. What black students need now, however, is a real education, one that teaches them to think analytically and independently. But independent thought is the exact opposite of what radicals want. A genuine college education would also bring students up to speed on the present state of knowledge, which means introducing them to what we have inherited from our great predecessors. But respect for those who made our society what it is gets in the way of the radicals’ plans to remake it, so they are belittled as the white males who dominated the corrupt past—benighted people like Isaac Newton, Abraham Lincoln, Homer, and William Shakespeare. Higher education has been a real engine of social change. Large populations of immigrants—Italians, Irish, Jews—began life in America as the downtrodden poor, but excellent public higher education allowed many of them to rise to the top of American society. At any particular historical moment those who have the greatest stake in higher education are the people looking to move up the social scale. But at this moment, excellence in higher education is not available to many African-Americans just when they need it—and that’s because left radicals have taken it away from them—and from everyone else. The politicized campuses are now boot-camps for political radicalism that produce graduates who don’t know much and haven’t learned to think productively. Blacks are disproportionately damaged. A recent study by Richard Arum and Josipa Roksa, “Academically Adrift: Limited Learning on College Campuses,” found that in the first two years of college the already large gap (about 1,170 vs. 1,000) between Collegiate Learning Assessment scores of white and black entering students got even larger, so that blacks fell even further behind. Radicals make a bad racial situation worse. Worse yet, the radical left does all it can to inculcate a mindset that guarantees black failure. The psychology of upward social mobility has to involve confidence and determination. Confidence, because to strive for something you must believe both that it’s worthwhile and that your efforts will be rewarded. And determination, because you must believe that you can overcome obstacles if you put your mind to it. But all of this would only get in the radicals’ way. By denigrating our society, radicals undermine belief in the value of seeking a better place in it. By insisting that racism is still ever-present, they undermine confidence that effort will be rewarded. By telling blacks that they are perpetual victims, they encourage despair and resignation. By telling them that they should be held to a lower standard through preferences, they encourage a lower level of effort. Radicals use race in their war against their own society because they know that racial discord is their only pathway to the social revolution they want, but they have no conscience about the harm they do to the people they claim to champion. This truth will never go away: Radical left success means black failure, and black success means radical left failure. Shakespeare gives us the essential shape of the situation: “To mourn a mischief that is past and gone is the next way to draw new mischief on.” Radical leftists are determined to make as much new mischief out of the old as they possibly can. Nobody should help them to do that—least of all those who most suffered from the old mischief, because the new mischief hits them hardest, too. John M. Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., has no Democrats on city council, but that could change on Nov. 3. with multiple Democratic candidates calling for more diversity and support for Black Lives Matter and LGBT groups. “Some are trying to nationalize city council races in my city and to make them look a lot more like Trump versus Biden,” Councilman Tony Beall told the Epoch Times. “We fill potholes. We take care of the local issues. We take care of the streets and ensure that the police are on the streets, and that people are safe. We don’t deal with things like abortion, Supreme Court, the Black Lives Matter agenda, and transgender issues. But there are people who want to talk about this even at the local level.” Contenders on both sides have accused opponents of playing the non-partisan card and showing their political stripes only when it is convenient or beneficial for their own campaigns. Two at-large city council positions, both for four-year terms, are up for grabs. The incumbents, Tony Beall and Carol Gamble, are longtime councilmembers who have both served multiple one-year terms as mayor and are endorsed by the Republican Party of Orange County. Glenn Acosta and Wendy Braun are Republicans but are not party-endorsed. However, Acosta said he is backed by GROW Elect, a group that supports Republican Latinos. Beth Schwartz and John Christopoulos have been endorsed by the Democratic Party of Orange County, while Julia Bendis and Andrea Machuca are unendorsed Democrats. Another candidate, Chris McLaughlin told The Epoch Times he supported Bernie Sanders in 2016 and the 2020 March primaries. He described himself as progressive. Of the nine candidates, The Epoch Times could not reach Braun, Machuca, and Christopoulos for comment. In separate interviews with the other six, they all agreed city council should concentrate primarily on local issues and steer clear of national politics, but on matters of social justice, that line quickly became blurred. All three Republican candidates said the national political tensions should not be acted out in America’s city halls, while Democratic candidates said the city should do more to support Black Lives Matter (BLM) and embrace the LGBTQ community, as well as deal with local issues. BLM protests in Rancho Santa Margarita over the summer were peaceful, but tensions remain high. When councilmembers resisted demands to endorse BLM and fly the LGBT Pride flag at City Hall during Pride month in June, Beall said councilmembers were called racists. “I find that highly offensive. … I believe that every life matters—black lives, cops’ lives. Everyone’s life matters. It’s troubling,” he said. “The protesters came out because they said there’s a ‘stigma’ living in our city in Orange County. … They want us to fly Black Lives Matter flags and rainbow flags in city halls. We fly the American flag, the California flag, and the city flag. We are just a city. … We govern respectfully for all people on a non-partisan basis.” A file photo of flags flying in front of the Civic Plaza in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. (Wikimedia Commons) City Councilmember Tony Beall is defending his seat in the November 2020 election in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. (Courtesy of Tony Beall) Despite Beall’s claims of non-partisanship, Mclaughlin said Beall’s political stripes are often showing in his attacks on Gov. Gavin Newsom over the statewide COVID-19 restrictions. “He went on like a six-minute unsolicited grandstand about Gov. Newsom a couple meetings ago about how horrible his COVID restrictions are—we’re not going to put up with another lockdown and by the way we should recall him,” Mclaughlin said. McLaughlin recently attended city hall meetings asking the council to acknowledge BLM and do more to support the organization. “I still believe the city should support Black Lives Matter,” McLaughlin told the Epoch Times. Council, he said, should make a statement saying it supports Black Lives Matter, “but that it also supports the rule of law, and won’t tolerate any destructive behavior in the name of First Amendment protests.” Though Mclaughlin said he still has a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker on his car, he said he gave up on party politics in 2016. Chris McLaughlin is running for a city council seat in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., in the November 2020 election. (Courtesy of Chris McLaughlin) “I’m so over it,” he said. Describing himself as “pretty liberal,” Mclaughlin said, “I think I would fall into the progressive wing of the Democrats.” And, even though the Democratic Party endorsement would help pay for his campaign, McLaughlin said he doesn’t want to be endorsed, because he doesn’t like the idea of having to toe the party line. “I don’t like being owned like that. I want to be a free person.” Bendis expressed similar sentiments about party endorsements. “I obviously lean more Democrat. I do have some conservative views, but … I didn’t want to be endorsed by the Democratic Party because I didn’t want to play by their rules,” she said. “This country is so divided; our city is so divided; Orange County is divided. So, my goal is to kind of bring a little peace and hope and just listen to what the citizens want—the residents,” she said. Bendis is a matchmaker by trade—she has carried on a family tradition from her Russian heritage of matchmaking and runs a business helping Californians find love. She says she wants to apply her skills to help foster harmony in the city. “The bottom line is my position is to listen to people. … I’m not a politician; I’ve never been one. And, I am a matchmaker; I’m a dating coach, so … I listen to people in my everyday job … their needs, their wants, how to improve the relationship, how to improve their lives. And what I plan to do, if I get elected to the council, is just to be there for people and improve our relationship.” Julia Bendis is running for a city council seat in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., in the November 2020 election. (Courtesy of Julia Bendis) A file photo of the Civic Plaza in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. (Wikimedia Commons) Bendis said she does not support defunding police, but that police need better training and more mental health screening. She said city council should take a stand against racism and police brutality and show more support for black residents and other minority groups, including the LGBTQ community. “I think it would be amazing to see a rainbow flag. It would be amazing to see a Black Lives Matter flag, because it only shows the residents that they’re wanted … they’re protected, and that they’re loved and cared for,” she said. Bendis supports Black Lives Matter. “Of course, I do. I have to. As a Jewish person, how can I not? They have been persecuted, just like my people have. I don’t see how any immigrant or any Jew could not support them. I think there is a lot of misconceptions about what Black Lives Matter is, what the movement is, and we need to discuss it,” she said. Bendis, who moved from the former Soviet Union to Orange County in 1989, said she would like to see more diversity on city council. On her campaign website, Schwartz posted the Democratic Party of Orange County’s Resolution in Support of Black Lives Matter and Systemic Racial Justice Reform, but she said she doesn’t support BLM’s call to “defund police,” which she called “a poor choice of wording.” “I’m not promoting the organization; I am promoting the movement that black lives matter.” If elected to council, Schwartz said she wants to pass a resolution “looking at how our police are trained” and “how everyone is included and represented in our community.” Beth Schwartz is running for a city council seat in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., in the November 2020 election. (Courtesy of Beth Schwartz) Rancho Santa Margarita City Councilmember Carol Gamble is one of two incumbents vying for seats against seven contenders in the November 2020 election. (Courtesy of Carol Gamble) Gamble, who is endorsed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said she does not support BLM’s call to “defund police.” Beall and Acosta have also rejected the notion. “As we find ourselves in the middle of this civil unrest, both nationally and close to home, I’m proud that our city remains safe, secure, strong, and stable,” Beall said. Gamble is a founding member of the city. She worked for five years to help get the city incorporated on Jan. 1, 2000, and was elected to the inaugural council. She agrees with Beall that the city should fly only three flags. “We have never flown any organizational flags or statement flags anywhere in the city, because that’s not our job. Our job is to be stewards of the taxpayer money and provide services to the community. …Our job is not to be cheerleaders for certain interest groups. I serve everyone,” she said. “It is inappropriate for me, in my opinion, to be an advocate for any one organization. That is not my role.” Acosta said council should focus on city issues, such as keeping residents safe and protecting property values. “We should only focus on city governance, and stay away from national politics,” he said. Historically, Orange County has been a Republican stronghold in a mostly blue state, and because of that McLaughlin and Bendis say it’s time for diversity on city council. “Some are saying there is a lack of diversity of thought on our city council because there are no leftists on the council. They’ve tried to make that an issue,” Beall said. McLaughlin said the political makeup of city council should better reflect the demographics of Orange County and the state, to include more Democrats.
Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said she signed a production deal with Warner Bros. In a statement, Cullors said she would incorporate Black Lives Matter’s ideology into her projects. “Black voices, especially black voices who have been historically marginalized, are important and integral to today’s storytelling. Our perspective and amplification is necessary and vital to helping shape a new narrative for our families and communities. I am committed to uplifting these stories in my new creative role with the Warner Bros. family,” Cullors said, according to Variety. “As a long time community organizer and social justice activist, I believe that my work behind the camera will be an extension of the work I’ve been doing for the last twenty years. I look forward to amplifying the talent and voices of other black creatives through my work.” Terms of her deal with Warner Bros. were not disclosed. Variety reported that Cullors is being represented by CAA, 3 Arts, Sarah Weichel, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman. It’s not clear what kind of programming she will focus on or where it will be distributed. Warner Bros. is the owner of DC Films, New Line Cinema, Castle Rock Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, HBO, and others. Cullors drew controversy after she went on the record in describing herself and fellow BLM co-founder Alicia Garza as “trained Marxists,” or communists, and has used Marxist-inspired rhetoric over the years. Karl Marx’s “we have nothing to lose but our chains” is a favored slogan of her’s and the other BLM co-founders. “The first thing, I think, is that we actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers,” Cullors remarked in 2015. “We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.” Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez told The Epoch Times earlier this month that Cullors trained “at the Labor Community Strategy Center, which was founded by Eric Mann, another former member of the Weather Underground,” a communist group that is described by the FBI as a terrorist organization. “He calls that center a center for revolutionaries, a center where he trains revolutionaries. She trained there for many years,” Gonzalez said. The Warner Bros. deal came as YouTube announced several new projects, including the “Resist” documentary series that includes Cullors, Variety reported earlier this month. That documentary “follows the grassroots work of multicultural and intersectional organizations fighting the Los Angeles County’s $3.5 billion jail expansion plan in 2018 and examines the issues of cash bail” and “over-policing of Black and brown neighborhood,” the report said.
Jennifer Lopez recently came out with two new songs with Latin artist Maluma. The lyrics in one of the songs, Lonely, made her subject to backlash for what her fans thought were some pretty controversial lyrics. [embedded content] The songs are featured in the soundtrack of the duo’s upcoming Rom-Com, Marry Me, which will be released on Valentine’s Day 2021. In a recent interview with Billboard, Lopez shares her excitement of bringing Latin music and more representation of the Latin community to the big screen. The movie stars Jennifer Lopez who learns that her musician boyfriend, played by Maluma, has been cheating on her. In a way to get revenge on the boyfriend, she decides to take up a fan on his offer to marry her. The fan holding a “marry me” sign is played by actor, Owen Wilson. The Lyrics In Question In the song, JLo sings, “Yo siempre seré tu negrita del Bronx,” which the literal translation is, “I’ll always be your Black girl from the Bronx.” As you can imagine, Jennifer Lopez referring to herself as a ‘Black girl’ would receive backlash from a lot of people including within the Latin community. In the Latin community, the word ‘negrita’ typically is a term often used to refer to a person with a darker complexion in the Latin community. For example, this term is often used by Afro-Latinos. Her use of the word caused her to be the subject of backlash for what people are saying is cultural appropriation. While that is the literal translation, this term like many terms in Spanish, has a different meaning to the same word. This is also something not unique to the Spanish language. Not only that but, dialects within the Spanish community are varied. Simple words or phrases could make sense in Puerto Rico but mean something very different in Colombia. In many Spanish-speaking countries, the word is actually used as a term of endearment. In Jennifer Lopez’s case, who is Puerto Rican, Puerto Ricans often use the term ‘negrita’ or ‘negrito’ in an affectionate way. This is especially known to be true on the island. Backlash From Fans While some have found the lyrics to be especially offensive to the Afro-Latinx community and the beauty standards of Latinas, others have come to the star’s defense. Explaining that what JLo meant is, “I’ll always be your sweetie from the Bronx.”Several fans questioned why JLo and her team thought it was appropriate to come out with lyrics like that. Jennifer Lopez commented on the criticism stating, “For anyone to think or suggest that I’m racist is really absurd and hateful to me. The use of the word in the song – it was actually written by Ja Rule – it was not meant to be hurtful to anybody.” Many wanted to know what Ra Rule had to say about the matter. When Ra Rule was asked to comment on the situation he responded, “I think it’s silly. I think the whole thing, like everything else, is being blown out of proportion. She’s not the first Latino to use that word on a record, and it’s never been an issue before. I think it’s just that she’s a very high-profile star and it’s something to let people get a chance to poke at her.” Since the backlash from the song, she has not used that word in any of her other songs that followed it but many are bringing up the situation again. Jennifer Lopez isn’t the only celebrity recently under fire for cultural appropriation. Other Celebs Cultural Appropriation Controversy Bad Bunny also faces backlash for cultural appropriation. The Puerto Rican Latin artist is under fire for wearing braids to the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. People complaining that the artist was ‘profiting off of Black culture’ for wearing the braids. This tweet started a debate on whether or not it was okay that Bad Bunny was wearing braids. Many agreed that it is cultural appropriation while others felt that wearing braids isn’t just apart of the Black community but other communities as well. This isn’t cultural appropriation to me only because being that he his Puerto Rican, Beaded, braided hair is not only exclusive to black people but just their overall culture as well as a Durag/cap since most of them have really coarse hair. — 🇲🇽Jo na th an🌈 (@jonathan__760) October 15, 2020 This user added that beads in braids have been around for a while that it’s unfair to try to cancel someone for cultural habits that are similar. Or do you think stars shouldn’t have to apologize for having similar cultural habits?

Typically, when we want to visit a new restaurant, store, or any other unfamiliar business, we turn to Yelp as we read reviews on previous customers’ experiences. Notably, businesses with good reviews attract many new customers while those with bad reviews repel consumers from a business’s services. Because customer satisfaction is essential to the success of any business, Yelp holds great economic power. However, many Yelp users tend to illegimatize the site by utilizing it as a platform to lash out their emotions into an exaggerated review that may negatively affect an innocent business. Though fabricated reviews pose a problem to the website, Yelp is adding a new policy that may further this problem by adding an alert on a business’s page if they are associated with racist behaviors. Today, we’re announcing a new consumer alert to stand against racism. In the last few months, we’ve seen that there is a clear need to warn consumers about businesses associated with egregious, racially-charged actions to help people make more informed spending decisions. — Yelp (@Yelp) October 8, 2020 2020 has brought lots of attention to the Black Lives Matter movement, inspiring Yelp to take action in eliminating systemic racism. As part of their mission to end racism, Yelp partnered with ‘My Black Receipt’ to launch a black-owned business attribute encouraging consumers to spend $5 million at black-owned businesses from Juneteenth to Independence Day. Yelp also joined the ’15 Percent Pledge’ that urges major retailers to commit 15% of their shelves to black-owned businesses. After these initiatives increased the amount of Yelp reviews on black-owned businesses by 617%, Yelp decided to take their fight against racism one step further with their new policy warning consumers of a business’ racist activities. Why Are People Upset? Yelp may be making progress in the social justice realm, but many are apprehensive of the possible effects on the economy. Because negative reviews steer customers away from a particular business, people are worried that consumers will be more reluctant to spend money at a business that is accused of racism – even if the review is fake. This consideration has led people to question how Yelp will isolate real and fictitious accounts of racism. Yelp needs to explain how exactly they plan to investigate incidents of racism. We know of the fake reviews on Yelp, do you honestly feel that all Yelp reviews are legit? This is a power move by Yelp, they now have more power than ever with this policy! #WakeUp pic.twitter.com/rMFry48cfn — DJfirewood (@JfirewoodD) October 9, 2020 Many are also concerned that people may falsely accuse a business of racism out of dissatisfaction with an aspect unrelated to racism – attempting to ruin a business. Racist behavior in business go either way @Yelp you are gonna burry business to the ground because an entitle prick needed a refund — soignepapi (@soignepapi) October 9, 2020 However, Yelp has stated that the new ‘Business Accused of Racist Behavior’ warning is an extension of their ‘Public Attention Alert’, which “warns consumers that a business may be receiving an influx of reviews as a result of increased attention.” In other words, a business will receive an alert on their page when it is publicly exposed for racist behavior – a link to a published news article will be provided in the alert. The founder of Black Lives Matter in Atlanta has been arrested and charged with fraud and money laundering after nearly half of the donations he received for his “charity” was used to buy himself a house and other items totally around $200,000. Sir Maejor Page, whose real name is Tyree Conyers-Page, was arrested in Toledo and released on bond after appearing before a judge via video. According to Fox News: The Toledo FBI office opened an investigation last year after a cooperating witness submitted a fraud complaint against Page, whose real name is Tyree Conyers-Page, FBI agent Matthew Desorbo said in the complaint. Page founded Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta in 2016 and this year took in more than $466,000 in donations in June, July and August, Desorbo said. “In sum, Page has spent over $200,000 on personal items generated from donations received through BLMGA Facebook page with no identifiable purchase or expenditure for social or racial justice,” he said. The FBI in Toledo said Page pledged to use those donations “for George Floyd” but instead used the money make purchases related to food, dining, entertainment, clothing, furniture, a home security system, tailored suits and accessories. According to the bureau, Page also used $112,000 of the donated money to purchase a house for himself in Toledo, Ohio. The transaction took place last month. According to Chicks on the Right, this isn’t the first time he’s been arrested for pretending to be what he’s not. This is not Page’s first run in with law enforcement. He was previously arrested…multiple times..for impersonating a law enforcement officer. Also, he was part of a group of activists that met with then Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed demanding police reform. Can you even?! There are scams happening at every level within the Black Lives Matter money-making project. But for every BLM founder who is arrested, hundreds of others are walking free continuing their ultimate scam. What has happened to New York City? Perhaps a better question is what has happened to the New York City Police Department. And, of course, to understand the underlying problem, we have to ask why Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo continue to hamper law enforcement’s efforts to stop crime and arrest domestic terrorists. An ugly scene unfolded last week when “protesters” heading to the Brooklyn Bridge were confronted by a man they labeled as a “white supremacist.” He can be seen in the video from Freedomnews.tv lambasting some of them for their “cosplay” protests before finding himself face-to-face with a larger group and a very large man. Their argument turned brutal when they tried to force him to move through a “lane” the had created for him. As they grabbed him and “escorted” him out, they attacked him. At least six Black Lives Matter and Antifa supporters grabbed and punched the man. But what makes it all much worse is the fact that a large contingent of New York’s Finest was just a few yards away watching it unfold. The camera angle didn’t capture them until after the man was beaten. He walked over to the street from the sidewalk where he was assaulted where the camera showed the police officers conspicuously not getting involved. The man yelled at them for their lack of assistance and unwillingness to enforce the law, even as it was being broken in front of them. Incidents like these demonstrate the sad fact that in many cities, including Democrat-run NYC, police allow laws to be broken right in front of them. It’s mostly not they’re fault. They’re just following orders from feckless city leadership. COVID-19 may take down an independent news outlet Nobody said running a media site would be easy. Since the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, thousands took to the streets to protest for change and justice for the loss of black lives at the hands of cops. For months, all over social media people were demanding that the cops who killed Breonna Taylor be charged for her death, but they were not. Because people were furious with the grand jury decision, people are back to the streets demanding justice for Taylor. Although this was a tragic situation, Taylor’s case has become very politicized as each party has their own opinions. But did this political figure go too far? Shortly after the verdict of Taylor’s case was announced, conservative Tomi Lahren tweeted a controversial statement following the court decision on Wednesday afternoon. It is NOT an officer’s duty to gamble with his/her life so you can happily and comfortably resist arrest. — Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) September 23, 2020 Also, when the vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris tweeted out to mourn Taylor’s death, Lahren responded redirecting the attention to officers who have died in the line of duty. Do you know the name of even one officer gunned down and murdered in the line of duty? Didn’t think so. https://t.co/6gXjc4NaJQ — Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) September 24, 2020 Lahren’s comments may be controversial, but this is not her first time openly expressing her controversial views – despite backlash. Back in 2016, she tweeted “Meet the new KKK, they call themselves “Black Lives Matter” but make no mistake their goals are far from equality” – angering many people. Also, she has tweeted out her views on immigration and opposition to kneeling during the National Anthem, which caused many to express their animosity towards her. Mainstream media outlets began writing about her comments such as People Magazine, Huffington Post and the New York Times. Chris Evans even responded to one of her tweets back in 2019 calling her out by saying “Wow. The complete lack of sympathy, respect, and general awareness is astonishing. Also, I would carry my kid through fire if it meant escaping hell.” Because Lahren has been known for her controversial political views, her critics were quick to condemn her and her tweets about the Breonna Taylor case. The grand jury indicted one of the three officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor but not for her murder. The former detective, Brett Hankison, was charged with reckless endangerment of Breonna Taylor’s neighbors. People are outraged saying this is not the justice Breonna Taylor deserves. Brett Hankison was indicted on Wednesday for three counts of first-degree “wanton endangerment.” In Kentucky, wanton endangerment is a felony charge that could mean up to five years in prison. Well, according to the state law of Kentucky wanton endangerment in the first degree is considered a Class D felony. In Kentucky, people who are convicted of Class D felonies face up to 5 years in prison. Kentucky law states, “A person is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree when, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to value of human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person.” The charges that Hankison is facing actually has absolutely nothing to do with Breonna Taylor. Judge Annie O’Connell read the charges stating the officer, “wantonly shot a gun,” into a neighbor’s apartment. Daniel Cameron, Kentucky Attorney General, explained that there wasn’t enough convincing evidence to link Hankison’s shots to the ones that killed Breonna Taylor. Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired at the officers which according to the attorney general, justifies the return of fire. Breonna Taylor Breonna Taylor was 26-years-old when she was killed. She was a ER technician with so many exciting plans for her future. On March 13th, in her apartment in Louisville, Breonna Taylor was shot six times and bled out on the floor. The Kentucky Police had a ‘no-knock’ search warrant for Breonna Taylor’s apartment. Her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, said he did not know it was police and opened fire. There was a total of 32 shots fired by the police that night. Attorney General Cameron explained the F.B.I. laboratory concluded that the shot that was fatal was fired by Detective Cosgrove. However, a lab in Kentucky could not determine exactly who fired the fatal shot. Sam Aguiar, a lawyer representing Taylor’s family, blames the police department’s failure. Aguiar stated, “ Breonna Taylor gets shot in her own home, with her boyfriend doing what’s as American as apple pie, in the defending himself and his woman.” Cameron stated the investigation confirmed police had knocked and announced their presence properly before entering Taylor’s apartment. Walker and neighbors in interviews have said that they did not hear the police announce themselves. President Trump commented on the matter stating, “I think it’s a sad thing, and I give my regards to the family,” Trump said. “I also think it’s so sad what’s happening with everything about that case, including law enforcement. So many people suffering.” The Aftermath Breonna Taylor has become an icon for the racial injustice that the black community faces. Her name along with other victims like George Floyd and Jacob Blake have been the center of the Black Lives Matter protests. It took several months for Breonna Taylor to get justice. Breonna Taylor’s family received a of 12 million dollars along with changes to prevent future deaths by officers. The agreement was annouced about the settlement of the wrongful-death lawsuit on September 15th. Breonna’s law was created to stop the use of “no-knock” search warrants. The law states, “a Federal law enforcement officer 9 (as defined in section 115 of title 18, United States Code) 10 may not execute a warrant until after the officer provides 11 notice of his or her authority and purpose.” The indictment that Hankison received is not justice for Breonna Taylor. Many people have continued to protest and say her name to get her the justice she derives. She was murdered in her own home and the officer was charged for the bullets he missed. People are heartbroken to see this happen. They are tired and disappointed with the system that is broken. Many questioning if the officer wasn’t guilty of killing Breonna then why did her family receive a settlement for 12 million dollars in the wrongful-death lawsuit. How much is a life worth that this injustice is happening? Taylor’s family and legal team wanted harsher charges. Activists are calling for real justice to be served. An attorney that represents Taylor’s family, Ben Crump, hoped to at least have the officer charged with manslaughter in the second degree. Breonna Taylor deserves better than this. A high school in Dallas, Texas is under fire for an assignment that placed Kyle Rittenhouse, accused Kenosha shooter, on a list of ‘Modern Heroes’. Alongside Rittenhouse’s name included George Floyd and even Joseph Rosenbaum. An unidentified W.T. White high school teacher assigned their students a paper to write about a modern-day hero. This assignment would’ve been perfectly acceptable until you read the list of modern-day heroes that was provided to the students. It’s the @dallasschools assignment that has people across the country now asking questions. Accused #Kenosha killer among list of “heroes” for an English assignment. Defenders say it’s about “critical thinking”, others call it flat out racist, and wrong @CBSDFW pic.twitter.com/JnluETK3Br — Robbie Owens (@cbs11Robbie) September 16, 2020 There are many things to point out about this list. Joseph Rosenbaum, one of the protestors that were shot in Kenosha, is listed under the man who is accused of killing him. Another thing to note is that both Mahatma Gandhi and Malcolm X are spelled incorrectly. Prominent names such as those had people questioning if the error was a quick typo or just plain intentional carelessness. The English teacher who created the assignment is now under investigation by the Dallas school district. The school district commented, “An unapproved assignment posted in Google Classroom yesterday has been brought to our attention. Understandably, this caused some concern for the impacted students, and we apologize. Campus administration immediately removed the unapproved content and students are not required to complete that assignment. Due to personnel policies, we are not able to comment further, however, the appropriate steps are being followed pending investigation.” The ‘Unapproved’ High School Assignment The assignment was given to seniors at W.T. White High School in the Dallas Independent School District (ISD). The district did not identify the teacher but the assignment has been removed from Google Classroom. A Dallas W.T. school profile for the 2019-2020 school year shows that 6% of the students are white, 81% Hispanic, and 10% are African American. Business Insider received a statement from Robyn Harris, director of news and information for Dallas ISD saying, “Racial equity is a top priority in Dallas ISD, and we remain committed to providing a robust teaching environment where all students can learn. It is important that we continue to be culturally sensitive to our diverse populations and provide a space of respect and value.” An older sister of a senior at the school reported the assignment to her brother’s principal after sharing the assignment details with her family. Her brother could not believe the assignment he had received from his English teacher. She told a local news station, “The juxtaposition of George Floyd’s name with Kyle’s name was just astounding. The value of Black lives are not up for debate, and that’s what it felt like this was sort of getting at- by way of the names that were included.” “It was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, the spelling,’ ‘Oh my gosh, there are no women on here,’ and then very ardently the fact that a White supremacist murderer’s name is on a list with important historical figures”, she continued. The assignment caused debate on Twitter. Many were offended by the list and was unsure what the teacher was thinking. A warrant was issued for Blake’s arrest back in July. The warrant was on charges of third-degree sexual assault, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. On August 23rd, police received a call informing them that Jacob Blake was at the home of the woman who filed the charges. Officials stated, the police went to arrest Blake and before they shot him, the officers tried to use a taser on him twice. Jacob Blake was shot in the back seven times in front of his children. Blake had staples placed along his back and abdomen. He is now paralyzed from the waist down. A video was posted to social media that quickly sparked more protests for racial justice continued after the death of many Black Americans including George Floyd, Brianna Taylor, and Elijah McClain. [embedded content] Kyle Rittenhouse Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old white male, is accused of killing two people and injuring a third during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin. One of the men killed is 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum who was included in the list of ‘Modern Heroes’ the teacher provided. [embedded content] The National Foundation of Gun Rights, a conservative gun rights group, raised $50,000 for the Rittenhouse. The group announced they sent it to the teenage for, “defending himself and business owners.” Conservatives came to the defense of the teenage believing that his alleged actions were out of self-defense including President Trump. He is being charged as an adult in Wisconsin and faces life in prison if convicted of the highest charge. The list of ‘Modern Heroes’ was clearly questionable. It’s hard to see why the teacher thought that was acceptable. Do you think the teacher had a point behind the assignment? Did they create the assignment not realizing it was inappropriate?

Milwaukee Black Lives Matter militants are no longer content to have their riots in the streets anymore. They have decided that they are going to start bringing their grievances directly to the front doors of Trump supporters. On Tuesday night, one of the Trump supporters was arrested for the crime of protecting their own home from these far-left protesters. This is not the first time that these angry mobs have showed up at the homes of random individuals. These arrivals have nothing to do with the protests. They are all about intimidation. There is a Facebook page entitled “Justice Tour 2020” and it outlines all of these plans. Vaun L. Mayes believes that he is Milwaukee’s answer to Malcolm X (his words, not ours) and he is sharing all sorts of personal information. Trump supporters are watching in horror as all of their information is being presented to the rest of the world without anyone bothering to intervene. The page is chock full of addresses and phone numbers. Those who are listed are going to be treated to many unwanted visitors. Mayes refers to the illegal gatherings as “protest parties”. Former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales has also been the target of this harassment. The group is said to have already held numerous “protest parties” at his home. He was once the chief but he has since been demoted back to captain for the usage of pepper spray and tear gas against the protesters. Ald. Nikiya Dodd does not like what she is seeing. As a representative of the 5th District (where Morales resides), she believes that the protests are causing more harm than good. The threats that they are causing to public safety need to be addressed immediately. As for Mayes, the doxing and terrorism that he engages in is enough to keep the PayPal donations rolling in on his Facebook page. The Tuesday “party” took place at the home of a man who was believed to be racist. The mob used the existence of a Confederate flag to justify their visit. While we did not see any evidence of this flag in this video, the man was flying a Trump flag and an American flag. Once he held a gun up in the window to try and scare the rioters away, they called the police on him. BLM group, including children, pouring onto someone's property that they seem to be harassing after he was arrested by police. They're calling him "Probation Pete," and are celebrating his arrest. Milwaukee, WI 2/3 pic.twitter.com/WsrIaUZs0T — Kitty Shackleford (@KittyLists) September 16, 2020 The irony of the anti-police crowd using the police as a cudgel to attack people they don’t like shouldn’t be lost on anyone. Abolish the police, indeed. The police arrived and took the man away, setting off a chorus of cheers from the same crowd that had been menacing him earlier. They called him “Probation Pete” and treated his arrest like one big party. I'm still trying to figure out whose house this is. Milwaukee, WI – seems to be outside of a house who BLM is saying pointed a gun at them. The title of the video is "We still lit – This goes out to all the racist neighbors out there" so I assume it is just a local "racist" 1/3 pic.twitter.com/84X6BDQwnD — Kitty Shackleford (@KittyLists) September 16, 2020 The group that was involved in this clear antagonism even included children, which is one of the most disturbing aspects of this whole thing. Various outlets have reached out to Facebook and PayPal about the potential violations of their service agreements that are currently taking place. No one has been given any reassurances at the moment. This is a powder keg that is waiting to explode. What happens when one of these homeowners is not in the mood to merely brandishing a gun? When someone finally decides to open fire on the “party” as soon as they arrive, the mainstream media will pretend that this is an isolated incident. They are going to ignore the history of these visits and treat the person who finally loses their temper as if they are a criminal. Since the local authorities are not being given the tools that they need to put a stop to these behaviors, we won’t be surprised when we keep hearing about these stories. It’s only a matter of time before these “parties” turn ugly and we hope that someone intervenes soon. These stories are going to start to take a tragic turn before too long. Biden’s Mostly Peaceful Protests Caused Over 2 Billion in Damages Mostly To Minorities
While the Washington Post has decided to highlight a recent report about the protests remaining mostly peaceful, there is still much to be done. Yes, their report claimed that 93 percent of the protests have been peaceful. It’s the 7 percent that is worrying the rest of the country right now. The civil disorder that the nation is experiencing is getting very, very expensive. Property Claim Services has tracked every insurance claim that is related to forms of civil unrest since 1950. Any insured loss damages over $25 million are classified as a “catastrophe”. 2020 is going to cost insurance companies more than any other in our nation’s history. The number may reach $2 billion before the year is out. Insurance Information Institute corroborates the figure. They compile information that is provided by Property Claim Services and other companies that gather such data. “It’s not just happening in one city or state — it’s all over the country,” says Loretta L. Worters. As a member of the Insurance Information Institute, she has never seen anything quite like this. She believes that the losses could continue to rise, since the protests seem to be far from over. As a point of comparison, we took a look at the damages caused by the Rodney King riots back in the ’90s. When you adjust the numbers for inflation, these totals reach roughly $1.4 billion. It’s safe to say that these riots are already much worse than that. One of the best ways to truly understand the damages is by comparing it to a natural disaster. This year’s wildfires have caused $1.5 billion in damages thus far but in past years, these damages have reached up to $18 billion. Hurricane Isaias, a category 1 hurricane, caused damages that range somewhere between $3 billion and $5 billion. So, there you have it. These protests are less costly than the most expensive wildfires but more costly than this year’s wildfires. It’s not over yet and that is the most nerve-wracking part for those who are paying close attention to the news. For starters, there is a great deal of speculation about what may happen if Trump is able to win re-election. There were plenty of riots and protests following the 2016 election and this one could be more of the same. The damages that are already taking place are substantial enough. Kenosha’s fire chief has been dealing with the aftermath of the riots that broke out after the Jacob Blake shooting. According to Fire Chief Charles Leipzig, he says that the damages have already exceeded $11 million. “It’s been a very difficult past month,” says Leipzig. “We have a record fire loss and some injuries as a result of the current events. … You’re looking at $11 million in fire loss. To put into context, that’s three years of fire loss for us in the span of about a week. And we also sent some people to the hospital. It has not been a very pleasant month.” This begs the question: when can we expect things to go back to normal? Biden seems to think that he has a chance to turn things around. The leftists might be a bit happier if Trump is out of office but that is not going to change things by itself. On the other hand, the anti-war movement seemed to vanish pretty quickly once Barack Obama had the chance to become president. There is also a chance that a coronavirus vaccine could be ready for the general public before the year is out. This is Trump’s great hope at the moment and he is putting a lot of pressure on Pfizer to get it done. If the vaccine is released to the public, this could help put a stop to all of civil unrest that we have been seeing. In the meantime, the far left is going to continue to put pressure on local district attorneys. So far, these DAs have been slow to bring charges against protesters. All of that could change once these cities are forced to start paying off the damages that have taken place during this long, strange summer. Post navigation Previous Article Dems’ New Normal! There is no acceptable resolution to any conflict between law enforcement and a Black man in the eyes of Black Lives Matter except for law enforcement to lose. They made that crystal clear with their unhinged protests in Lancaster, PA, Sunday night. The situation was textbook self-defense by a police officer. Called out by the family of a person of color, Ricardo Munoz, 27, because he was threatening his own mother, a police officer was almost immediately face-to-face with the suspect. The police officer backed up and retreated when Munoz came at him with a large knife. When it was clear Munoz was going to continue to pursue and intended bodily harm, the police officer shot and killed him. If he didn’t do exactly what he did, it is almost certain the police officer would be dead along with members of Munoz’ family. But that fact didn’t stop Black Lives Matter “activists from rioting in the streets of Lancaster, tearing down a door and breaking several windows at the police station. They threw bottles, bricks, and other heavy items at the police station and surrounding buildings before finally being dispersed by tear gas and rubber bullets. Why? Because a law enforcement officer did not want to be murdered. The only thing that could have kept #BLM from rioting in Lancaster last night is if the police officer would have allowed the knife-wielding suspect chasing him to actually just stab him to death. Then, #BLM would have been okay with the outcome. — JD Rucker (@JDRucker) September 14, 2020 In the latest episode of NOQ Report, I covered this story as well as two other BLM stories. The BLM narrative has no logic, only hatred in their push or Neo-Marxism. COVID-19 may take down an independent news outlet Nobody said running a media site would be easy. We could use some help keeping this site afloat. Colleagues have called me the worst fundraiser ever. My skills are squarely rooted on the journalistic side of running a news outlet. Paying the bills has never been my forte, but we’ve survived. We have ads on the site that help, but since the site’s inception this has been a labor of love that otherwise doesn’t bring in the level of revenue necessary to justify it. When I left a nice, corporate career in 2017, I did so knowing I wouldn’t make nearly as much money. But what we do at NOQ Report to deliver the truth and fight the progressive mainstream media narrative that has plagued this nation is too important for me to sacrifice it for the sake of wealth. We know we’ll never make a ton of money this way, and we’re okay with that. Things have become harder with the coronavirus lockdowns. Both ad money and donations that have kept us afloat for a while have dropped dramatically. We thought we could weather the storm, but the so-called “surge” or “2nd-wave” that mainstream media and Democrats are pushing has put our prospects in jeopardy. In short, we are now in desperate need of financial assistance. The best way NOQ Report readers can help is to donate. Our Giving Fuel page makes it easy to donate one-time or monthly. Alternatively, you can donate through PayPal as well. We need approximately $11,500 to stay afloat for the rest of 2020, but more would be wonderful and any amount that brings us closer to our goal is greatly appreciated. The second way to help is to become a partner. We’ve strongly considered seeking angel investors in the past but because we were paying the bills, it didn’t seem necessary. Now, we’re struggling to pay the bills. This shouldn’t be the case as our traffic the last year has been going up dramatically. June, 2018, we had 11,678 visitors. A year later in June, 2019, we were up to 116,194. In June, 2020, we had 614,192. It’s been hard to miss the steady drumbeat of articles and think-pieces over the past few months about Election Day war games and post-election planning underway on the left, rooted in obsessive fears that President Trump will refuse to accept an electoral loss, triggering a constitutional crisis and maybe even widespread civic unrest, all in a desperate attempt to cling to power. “The Left Secretly Preps for MAGA Violence After Election Day,” reads a recent headline at The Daily Beast. “Is Trump Planning a Coup d’État?” asks another recent piece at The Nation. “Is America in the Early Stages of Armed Insurgency?” frets Slate. Similar pieces have run at the Washington Post (“The election will likely spark violence—and a constitutional crisis”), The Atlantic (“What might he do? What should Americans fear?”), Vox (“Imagine that… Donald Trump refuses to concede defeat”), The New Yorker (“Trump’s threats about rejecting the results come November are not idle”), and on and on. The news hook for most of these articles is a series of elaborate election war games hosted in June by a newly formed organization called the Transition Integrity Project, touted by the media as a bipartisan group of experts consisting of former elected officials, high-level government staffers, consultants, and journalists like David Frum, who wrote the Atlantic piece referenced above. In other words, the Transition Integrity Project is a cross-section of our elite ruling class. In its own executive summary of the war games, the group states it was founded “out of concern that the Trump Administration may seek to manipulate, ignore, undermine or disrupt the 2020 presidential election and transition process” — never mind the many ways Democrats in Congress and the executive bureaucracy, aided by the media, have been doing just that since before Trump won the 2016 election. The exercise mimicked the kind of war games sometimes conducted for foreign policy crises, only this time the format was applied to the presidential election, with one team playing the Biden campaign and the other the Trump campaign. The outlandish outcome of these simulations—that in the event of a close election, Trump might “federalize the National Guard and take military control of state voting sites,” as Frum writes — tells us less about what is likely to happen in the real world and more about the mendacious worldview, toxic prejudices, and treasonous imaginings of the elites themselves. In one of the simulations, a scenario similar to 2016 was gamed out, with Trump losing the popular vote but winning the right combination of states for an Electoral College victory. John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman and a top adviser to Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, played the role of Biden. According to Ben Smith’s account of the simulation in the New York Times, Podesta-as-Biden refused to concede, saying his party wouldn’t let him and instead alleged voter suppression, persuading the governors of Wisconsin and Michigan to send Biden electors to the Electoral College. “In that scenario, California, Oregon, and Washington then threatened to secede from the United States if Mr. Trump took office as planned,” writes Smith. “The House named Mr. Biden president; the Senate and White House stuck with Mr. Trump. At that point in the scenario, the nation stopped looking to the media for cues, and waited to see what the military would do.” The Left Is Engaging In Political Blackmail Whether they realize it or not, Podesta and Frum and the others are acting out a present-day version of the election of 1860, only they’re playing the role of the secessionist South. Indeed, well before Abraham Lincoln won the election, even moderate “unionist” southern leaders warned that their states would secede if the vote didn’t go their way. It amounted to mass political blackmail, and after Lincoln’s decisive victory the South followed through on its threat. For slave states, the Union was conditional, not perpetual, and Lincoln’s election violated their conditions. Once southern states began seceding — South Carolina was the first to go, less than two months after Lincoln’s victory and three months before he even took office — the long-burning question about the constitutionality of secession had to be answered. For Lincoln and most other northerners, the answer had always been obvious. The “central idea” of the Union, said Lincoln, “is the necessity of proving that popular government is not an absurdity. We must settle this question now, whether in a free government the minority have the right to break up the government whenever they choose.” We now seem to be on the cusp of relitigating the question, only instead of slaveholding southerners blackmailing the country with secession, it’s anti-Trump Democrats and left-wing radicals threatening to tear the country apart if Trump wins in November. For them, the Union is conditional, and Trump’s reelection will violate their conditions. What do they have in mind? Not exactly an 1860-style secession, state-by-state, but something more immediately disruptive. Depending on the circumstances the day after the election, they might contest the results and trigger lengthy litigations and ballot recounts, working in the meantime to come up with enough absentee ballots to put Biden over the edge. In that case, while the lawsuits and recounts are underway, the left plans to do what it’s been doing for months now: take to the streets. Last week, an initiative called the Fight Back Table, a coalition of more than 50 left-wing groups that got together after the 2016 election, met to formulate a plan of action in case no clear winner emerges after Election Day. Of course, “no clear winner” is something for which the left has been rhetorically preparing the country under the guise of ensuring all the mail-in ballots are properly counted. The group “began charting out what it would take to stand up a multi-state communications arm to fight disinformation, a training program for nonviolent civil disobedience, and the underpinnings of what one official described as ‘mass public unrest,’” according to a report by The Daily Beast. One person familiar with the discussion said the goal was to figure out how to “occupy shit, hold space, and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks.” By now, we all know what that means. Perhaps more disturbing than the possibility of organized mass riots and looting is the open fantasizing among Democrats, including Biden himself, about the role the military might play in a contested election. Biden has felt free to ruminate, more than once, on the possibility of soldiers dragging Trump out of the White House if he tries to “steal the election.” In June, Biden boasted that the military “will escort him from the White House with great dispatch.” Later, his campaign released a statement saying, “the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.” This isn’t normal campaign rhetoric, and it belies a feverish mindset on the left going into November that any outcome except a Biden win—by any means necessary—won’t be legitimate. That’s why Hillary Clinton has publicly urged Biden not to concede “under any circumstances.” Indeed, paranoia and an assumption that any action by the Trump administration to ensure the integrity of the election is tantamount to stealing it pervades our elite class. The Transition Integrity Project’s war games played out various scenarios, utterly divorced from reality, in which team Trump “succeeded in invoking the Insurrection Act and sending active-duty military troops into US cities to ‘restore order,’ ‘protect’ voting places, or confiscate ‘fraudulent’ ballots.” In another scenario, Attorney General Bill Barr ordered “the seizure of mail-in ballots to ensure that vote counting would stop.” Joe Biden says that his greatest concern that is that President Trump is going to try to “steal this election” and the military will have to escort him from the White House. "I promise you I'm absolutely convinced they will escort him from the White House with great dispatch." pic.twitter.com/MLPhMy2EdW — Benny (@bennyjohnson) June 11, 2020 All this tells us much more about the mindset of the people running the simulations than it does about what Barr or Trump are likely to do in November. The left simply cannot imagine an election in which Trump doesn’t win by cheating, hence they’ve decided they will accept only one outcome. Rahna Epting, executive director of MoveOn and a participant in the Fight Back Table discussions, told The Daily Beast, “It is very obvious that Trump is laying the groundwork for claiming victory no matter what.” This is doublespeak. What should be obvious by now is that a broad coalition of left-wing groups is laying the groundwork to reject the results of the November election if Trump wins and claim victory, no matter what. The same left-wing groups that have been fomenting riots and street violence for months will again mobilize, only this time they won’t be calling for the abolishment of the police but the effective abolishment of popular government—an end to our constitutional system, and with it, an end to the republic. Alas, this kind of electoral hostage-taking isn’t new. In the months before the 1860 election, southern leaders and newspapers warned in explicit terms that electing Lincoln would mean disunion, perhaps even war. “Let the consequences be what they may—whether the Potomac is crimsoned in human gore, and Pennsylvania Avenue is paved ten fathoms deep with mangled bodies,” declared one Georgia newspaper. “The South will never submit to such humiliation and degradation as the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln.” Most northerners thought this was just bluster, that Lincoln’s election would never lead to actual war and bloodshed. They badly underestimated how lightly the South regarded the Union, and what southerners would do to the country to be rid of it. They should have taken the South at its word. Now, 160 years later, we face what could be a similar crisis. There’s a rich irony in the elite assumption that post-election violence will come from “right-wing militias” or “vigilante groups,” when the last three months of rioting and looting by Antifa and Black Lives Matter activists have in some ways been a dress rehearsal for what the left is planning in November. You don’t need to read between the lines to understand this, you just need to take these people at their word.
