A “triggered” liberal parent has come completely unglued over a photo showing public school students from Omaha, Nebraska painted in red, white, and blue as they hold a flag supporting President Donald Trump. Anti-Trump Parent Comes Unglued Parent Erik Christensen lost it when a photo surfaced online of students who attended a recent Elkhorn South High School football game. “I think it was intimidating. I think it was threatening. I think it was racist,” Christensen told WOWT-TV. “I felt like it was kind of soaked in white supremacy.” RELATED: Woman Arrested After Driving Through Crowd Of Trump Supporters – Charged With Attempted Murder He added that the photo made him angry and worried for his stepdaughter, who attends the school. “I literally had to get up this morning, and I had to wonder if she was going to be OK when she went to school because this was the kind of environment that she was living in — one of very few black students or minority students at Elkhorn at all,” Christensen said. Principal Mark Kalvoda spoke out to say that the photo was actually just a partial image, with the full one showing students spelling out “2X World War Champs” as part of a “USA Out” theme, as they were supposed to show their patriotism during the game. The principal also said that students are allowed to hold a pro-Trump flag because free speech is protected at the school. Christensen Goes Off Again This did not sit well with Christensen, however. How did other students that are white respond to it?” Kalvoda said that he spoke with students of color and their parents after the game on Monday, and that the school is still looking into what happened. However, the Nebraska School Activities Association said that it has no language in its rules that addresses political signs at games. Game 1 of Major League Baseball’s “Fall Classic” turned out to be a ratings classic, in that it was classically awful. Viewership for the game came in at 9.2 million. Over the past four years, the Democrats have done nothing but vilify President Donald Trump and his supporters. I was sitting here thinking recently about how the media has to know that their candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden, is on track to lose in a couple of weeks. As you have seen for the last three years or so, the media’s go-to reaction is to throw a tantrum to fuel their spite and hatred for President Trump. Democrats on all levels are very childish at heart. It’s like a younger sibling being insanely jealous of the other’s success and trashing his or her bedroom for retaliation. RELATED: Fauci Fires Back After Trump Brands Him A ‘Disaster’ The people behind the past eight months of violence are preparing to burn, loot, murder, and turn our country upside down. With law enforcement in most larger cities having been neutered, the citizens of those cities will be subjected to terrorism, the likes of which we have not seen yet in America. Bernies Bros promised to burn down America if “Burnie” didn’t get the Democrat nomination! Antifa and Black Lives Matter took the call to arms! The same will happen after the election; however, at that point, Antifa crybabies could be met with REAL insurrection force to stop them. Nothing has changed since Trump surprised the Washington and media elite in 2016, and the same lousy propaganda that passes as polling is still being dumped on the American people today. Again no difference from then; since the DNC has become so docile and stupid, they failed because they violated the first rule of propaganda, do not believe your own propaganda as they are all lies. Today, just as they are – to a man and woman – believing the polls delivered to their clients, are the American people served by this? Not in the slightest. They will insist they have won, regardless of how much they lose by, and then set their Brown Shirts (Antifa black-clad storm troopers and BLM members in this case) loose on the country, to loot, burn, kill and destroy! The new face of the Democratic Party. I talked to a friend of mine 30 miles out of New York yesterday and she is very concerned about chaos. She could hardly understand that friends and co-workers for many years have totally turned on her for being a Trump supporter. She was happy to find another Trump supporter on the opposite coast. We had lost touch with each other over the years with many moves on both sides. So I guess Facebook is good for something. An end to this insanity? I hope that there will be a swift end to the violence and lots of arrests. I think that everyone is expecting lots of both once the election ends and Trump has won. Trump can’t do a sweeping roundup of rioters until after the election—it will possibly affect the results, or at least everyone will think it will. Commentary Why do African-Americans so often let left radicals lead them? The gulf between the real interests of the two groups is huge. What American blacks need is to prosper and move up into the economic and societal mainstream, but left radicals hate that mainstream and want to tear it down. So if blacks get what they need, radicals lose; while if radicals get what they want, blacks lose. Which means that the last people blacks should ever join forces with are radical leftists. The radicals who call themselves Black Lives Matter (BLM) illustrate the point. When violent BLM demonstrations destroy black businesses and neighborhoods, and their demonization of police causes a spike in black deaths, BLM doesn’t change course to stop the carnage. The issue of race certainly matters to BLM, but not in any way that benefits blacks. It matters chiefly because it gives them both numbers and a respectable issue. By themselves, radicals wouldn’t have the numbers they need to exert any serious influence, and none of their core issues resonate with the public in the way that racial fairness does. Radicals want to remake our society, and to do that they need to persuade the public that its present state needs tearing down. They know that they’ll never be able to get most people to believe that our free-market economy is the heart of society’s evil (though that’s what they’re really after), but if they can persuade them that society is full of vile racism, they make progress: The case for radical change advances. But American blacks don’t advance this way: Their neighborhoods, livelihoods, and confidence in progress are destroyed. Much of this starts on college campuses, so it’s not surprising that higher education illustrates well the complete mismatch between the interests of black students and left radicals. Radicals have achieved what they want on the campuses: politicized classrooms where activists can preach their ideology without institutional resistance. What black students need now, however, is a real education, one that teaches them to think analytically and independently. But independent thought is the exact opposite of what radicals want. A genuine college education would also bring students up to speed on the present state of knowledge, which means introducing them to what we have inherited from our great predecessors. But respect for those who made our society what it is gets in the way of the radicals’ plans to remake it, so they are belittled as the white males who dominated the corrupt past—benighted people like Isaac Newton, Abraham Lincoln, Homer, and William Shakespeare. Higher education has been a real engine of social change. Large populations of immigrants—Italians, Irish, Jews—began life in America as the downtrodden poor, but excellent public higher education allowed many of them to rise to the top of American society. At any particular historical moment those who have the greatest stake in higher education are the people looking to move up the social scale. But at this moment, excellence in higher education is not available to many African-Americans just when they need it—and that’s because left radicals have taken it away from them—and from everyone else. The politicized campuses are now boot-camps for political radicalism that produce graduates who don’t know much and haven’t learned to think productively. Blacks are disproportionately damaged. A recent study by Richard Arum and Josipa Roksa, “Academically Adrift: Limited Learning on College Campuses,” found that in the first two years of college the already large gap (about 1,170 vs. 1,000) between Collegiate Learning Assessment scores of white and black entering students got even larger, so that blacks fell even further behind. Radicals make a bad racial situation worse. Worse yet, the radical left does all it can to inculcate a mindset that guarantees black failure. The psychology of upward social mobility has to involve confidence and determination. Confidence, because to strive for something you must believe both that it’s worthwhile and that your efforts will be rewarded. And determination, because you must believe that you can overcome obstacles if you put your mind to it. But all of this would only get in the radicals’ way. By denigrating our society, radicals undermine belief in the value of seeking a better place in it. By insisting that racism is still ever-present, they undermine confidence that effort will be rewarded. By telling blacks that they are perpetual victims, they encourage despair and resignation. By telling them that they should be held to a lower standard through preferences, they encourage a lower level of effort. Radicals use race in their war against their own society because they know that racial discord is their only pathway to the social revolution they want, but they have no conscience about the harm they do to the people they claim to champion. This truth will never go away: Radical left success means black failure, and black success means radical left failure. Shakespeare gives us the essential shape of the situation: “To mourn a mischief that is past and gone is the next way to draw new mischief on.” Radical leftists are determined to make as much new mischief out of the old as they possibly can. Nobody should help them to do that—least of all those who most suffered from the old mischief, because the new mischief hits them hardest, too. John M. "Where would the Black Lives Matter movement be without the right to free speech?" asks Ira Glasser, the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) from 1978 to 2001. "There is no social justice movement in America that has ever not needed the First Amendment to initiate its movement for justice, to sustain its movement to justice, to help its movement survive." Glasser is the subject of the new documentary Mighty Ira, which chronicles his efforts to secure the speech rights of Nazis, undermine government attempts to regulate internet content, combat hate speech laws, and abolish campus speech codes. It is a portrait of a First Amendment hero who managed to have friends across ideological divides while remaining civil, engaged, and effective. The 82-year-old Glasser is troubled by his former group's seeming embrace of identity politics over free speech, and he worries that younger social justice activists view the First Amendment as an adversary rather than an ally. "John Lewis said that without free speech and the right to dissent, the civil rights movement would have been a bird without wings," Glasser says. Since COVID-19, the Democrats have all but condemned the gathering of mass people. But what is interesting is how the Democrats won’t dare attack the Black Lives Matter or leftists movement for their part in the corona spread. Even on Saturday,
In cities around the world, crackdowns on protesting can't seem to stop people from pouring out into the streets. Here in the U.S., federal agents just had an hourslong standoff with protestors in Portland after people tied star-shaped balloons with messages about immigration (such as "the U.S. locks up people seeking asylum") taped to them to the gate of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building. Department of Homeland Security officers "advanced on demonstrators soon after they arrived Saturday night…setting off an hours-long, back-and-forth struggle between police and protesters," reports The Oregonian: Federal officers then used smoke and impact munitions to break up the crowd for the next several hours. Protesters threw playground balls or rocks in response. Federal officers detained several people, although the exact number of arrestees remains unclear…. Saturday's demonstration started with a march from Willamette Park in South Portland. A flier for the event described it as a solidarity march against deportation. As marchers walked, they chanted messages such as "Black Lives Matter!" and "What's outrageous? Kids in cages." Many people carried silver and gold balloons shaped like stars. A fact about U.S. immigrations policy was taped to each balloon. In Phoenix, "nearly every attendee of a Saturday protest against police in downtown Phoenix was arrested after police say the group marched in the road, knocked barricades into the road, and threw smoke bombs at officers," The Arizona Republic reports: In total, 15 adults and three teens were arrested, according to Phoenix Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus. They face charges including aggravated assault on an officer, riot, criminal damage, unlawful assembly, hindering prosecution, resisting arrest and obstructing a road…. "As officers began making arrests, another incendiary device was thrown at them. Due to the ongoing criminal activity and assault, the Phoenix Police deployed less lethal munitions in order to safely make arrests," Justus said. Protest group The W.E. Rising Project posted on social media that police hit at least one protester in the face with a pepper ball. In Seattle, police ordered protesters to disperse after someone allegedly set a small fire and some street signs were spray-painted. It does not seem they arrested the fire starter or the vandals, but they did book five demonstrators for "failure to disperse, pedestrian interference, obstruction and resisting arrest." Meanwhile, across the Pacific Ocean, "Thai authorities shut down parts of Bangkok's commercial center and crippled public rail networks over the weekend in an effort to prevent young demonstrators from continuing their antigovernment protests," The New York Times informs us. "It didn't work." Tens of thousands of members of the pro-democracy movement, which has been galvanized by a political awakening among social media savvy students, gathered in Thailand's capital and in about 20 provinces on Saturday and Sunday to call for fresh elections, a new Constitution and reforms to the monarchy's lofty position in Thai society. In Belarus this weekend, the AP reports, "tens of thousands of people marched…demanding the ouster of the country's authoritarian leader who won his sixth term in office in an election widely seen as rigged." Mobilised through online platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, the youth-led protests that began on October 8 initially targeted the federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious police unit long accused of harassment, torture, extortion and extrajudicial killings. After days of #EndSARS demonstrations across Nigeria and the diaspora, authorities on Sunday announced the dissolution of SARS and later ordered all personnel to report to the police headquarters in the capital, Abuja, for debriefing and psychological and medical examination. Meanwhile, the forming of a new Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was announced to replace SARS. However, the announcements did not satisfy protesters, who viewed them as just another renaming exercise and pledged to stay on the streets until their demands are met. These include the immediate release of all arrested protesters, justice for all deceased victims of brutality and appropriate compensation for their families, an independent body to oversee the investigation and persecution of all reports of police misconduct, psychological evaluation and retraining of all disbanded SARS officers before they can be redeployed, and an increase in police salary so they are adequately compensated for protecting the lives and property of the citizens. Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said she signed a production deal with Warner Bros. In a statement, Cullors said she would incorporate Black Lives Matter’s ideology into her projects. “Black voices, especially black voices who have been historically marginalized, are important and integral to today’s storytelling. Our perspective and amplification is necessary and vital to helping shape a new narrative for our families and communities. I am committed to uplifting these stories in my new creative role with the Warner Bros. family,” Cullors said, according to Variety. “As a long time community organizer and social justice activist, I believe that my work behind the camera will be an extension of the work I’ve been doing for the last twenty years. I look forward to amplifying the talent and voices of other black creatives through my work.” Terms of her deal with Warner Bros. were not disclosed. Variety reported that Cullors is being represented by CAA, 3 Arts, Sarah Weichel, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman. It’s not clear what kind of programming she will focus on or where it will be distributed. Warner Bros. is the owner of DC Films, New Line Cinema, Castle Rock Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, HBO, and others. Cullors drew controversy after she went on the record in describing herself and fellow BLM co-founder Alicia Garza as “trained Marxists,” or communists, and has used Marxist-inspired rhetoric over the years. Karl Marx’s “we have nothing to lose but our chains” is a favored slogan of her’s and the other BLM co-founders. “The first thing, I think, is that we actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers,” Cullors remarked in 2015. “We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.” Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez told The Epoch Times earlier this month that Cullors trained “at the Labor Community Strategy Center, which was founded by Eric Mann, another former member of the Weather Underground,” a communist group that is described by the FBI as a terrorist organization. “He calls that center a center for revolutionaries, a center where he trains revolutionaries. She trained there for many years,” Gonzalez said. The Warner Bros. deal came as YouTube announced several new projects, including the “Resist” documentary series that includes Cullors, Variety reported earlier this month. That documentary “follows the grassroots work of multicultural and intersectional organizations fighting the Los Angeles County’s $3.5 billion jail expansion plan in 2018 and examines the issues of cash bail” and “over-policing of Black and brown neighborhood,” the report said.
