NOAA warns strong solar storm possible; could disrupt GPS, radio communications

WASHINGTON — The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is warning that solar activity could cause geomagnetic storms through the end of the week strong enough to trigger disruptions to GPS, communications satellites, and some military radios.
“Geomagnetic storms can impact infrastructure in near-Earth orbit and on the surface, potentially disrupting communications, the electric power grid, navigation, radio, and satellite operations,” NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center explained in its warning issued on Tuesday.
Such storms happen periodically as the sun’s activity (the solar cycle) waxes and wanes, and this particular round is not expected to be catastrophic. That said, there could be “moderate” impacts on Earth, with the worst case a G3 magnitude storm hitting on Thursday, NOAA said. G1 is the weakest and G5 the strongest storm level on the commonly used space weather scale.

The culprits are “Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs)” — large explosions of plasma from the sun’s atmosphere, or corona — first detected Aug. 14. CMEs create their own magnetic fields that can slam into the Earth’s own magnetic field and wreak havoc.

During a G3-level storm, NOAA’s website explains, “surface charging may occur on satellite components, drag may increase on low-Earth-orbit satellites, and corrections may be needed for orientation problems.” In addition, such storms can create “intermittent satellite navigation and low-frequency radio navigation problems.”

In other words, the Global Positioning System satellite network and similar Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) used for positioning, navigation and timing could be disrupted. However, one NASA expert explained that GPS actually is “protected pretty well from solar geomagnetic storms within the area it operates,” noting that the “primary concern is electrons in that area degrading solar panels.”
Likewise, the NOAA website added, high frequency (HF) radio communications may be interrupted.

The US military, particularly the Army, use HF radios for ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communications, including over the horizon. Civil government search and rescue operations around the world also often use HF radios.
“It’s hard to definitely say what the impacts might be for the three days of the storm,” one expert who consults for the US government told Breaking Defense. “Categorically, the upper atmosphere will be affected and atmospheric drag will increase. That means that LEO [Low Earth Orbit] debris, including inactive satellites, may reenter at a higher rate for a period of time.”
That would actually be a positive outcome, given that the growth of space debris in LEO is a serious concern for space operators.
Further, depending on how severe the storms are, “commercial over-the-pole air travel could be affected because of GNSS and communications outages.” However, the expert added, major airlines “all have staff meteorologists and space weather experts” who decide whether it is safer to fly at lower latitudes “and stop for gas somewhere.”
NOAA’s space weather center also is keeping an eye on a region of sunspots, where solar flares have reached levels that could cause “moderate radio blackouts” for tens of minutes on the sunlit side of the Earth. Low frequency navigation signals used by maritime and general aviation systems could be similarly affected over the rest of the week.
Solar flares are different than CMEs, although they often happen at the same time. They are intense bursts of radiation, similar to that created in a nuclear weapons blast, which cause an electromagnetic pulse (EMP).
Besides affecting GPS and HF radios, those EMPs sometimes also are strong enough to fry unprotected electronic systems on satellites. While most military satellites are radiation hardened for just that reason, most commercial communications satellites are not.
On the positive side, the geomagnetic storms could create an a rare spectacle for many skywatchers by pushing the Earth’s colorful aurora further south from its usual position over the poles.
“Auroras for this storm may be visible, if the weather conditions are favorable, as far south as Pennsylvania to Iowa to Oregon,” NOAA said.

What Will Happen 45 Days After The Warning Fr Rodrigue & The Reaction of the 4 Arms of Illuminati!

Mother & Refuge of the End TimesAugust 12, 2022In his private revelations from God the Father, Mystic Father Michel Rodrigue has been given the outline of what will take place around 45 days after the Warning:When the devil returns six and a half weeks after the Warning, he will disseminate a message to the world through the media, cell phones, TV’s, et cetera. The message is this: A collective illusion happened on this date. Our scientists have analyzed this and found it occurred at the same time that a solar flare from the sun was released into the universe. It was so powerful that it affected the minds of the people on Earth, giving everyone a collective illusion.Mirrored from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg5aJvGp85A

Incoming Huge Solar Storms Could Destroy Many Satellites, U.S. Gov’t Scientist Warns

By Nikolay Atanasova
A new era of space weather is about to rock our world—and it’s probably going to destroy many satellites in the next five years, according to solar storms expert Tzu-Wei Fang, a space scientist at NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).
“Whatever you’ve experienced in the past two years doesn’t matter,” Fang told crowds on Monday (August 8) at the 36th Small Satellite Conference in Logan, Utah.
“Whatever you learned the past two years is not going to apply in the next five years,” he added.

A new solar activity cycle is much stronger than anticipated and it’s already presenting major problems for satellite operators who are trying to keep their spacecraft in orbit while maintaining functionality.

During a panel discussion organized by the Secure World Foundation this week, Fang warned the audience that the February solar storm, which was responsible for the destruction of dozens of newly launched SpaceX Starlink satellites, was only the tip of the iceberg.
“That storm was actually a minor storm in our catalog,” she said. “It’s not a huge storm.”
One effect of the increased space weather activity the world will experience during this new solar cycle is an increased amount of drag on satellites as huge solar storms heat and expand the upper atmosphere, increasing its density.
Off-Grid Survival Toolkit (Ad)
This was demonstrated in February when a solar storm caused 38 of 49 newly launched SpaceX Starlink satellites to reenter the atmosphere. The spacecrafts’ thrusters were unable to overcome the increased atmospheric drag generated by the solar storm, therefore the satellites fell back into the atmosphere and were destroyed.
The SWPC has been collaborating with SpaceX in order to investigate the aforementioned occurrence and determine, among other things, how models of space weather can more accurately predict atmospheric circumstances and solar storms that can destroy satellites.
In the near future an article that provides a summary of those findings will be published in a journal.

This new solar storm cycle—called Solar Cycle 25 by space scientists—follows an 11-year period that was relatively calm. During that time, many more satellites were launched than ever before.
According to space scientists like Fang, this kind of data coordination between SpaceX and SWPC is extremely important because most existing satellite technicians are likely not ready for the huge solar storms that are coming.

Satellite operators cannot simply ignore the consequences of solar storms.
“It’s very important that we all be aware of the impact of the space environment, how your satellite is going to mitigate this radiation environment and how you’re going to mitigate the drag effects,” she said.

To make matters worse, the strength of Solar Cycle 25 is already moving in a direction that is significantly stronger than what was anticipated—and it won’t be peaking until around the middle of this decade.
A strong enough solar storm is even capable of destroying the internet and smartphones.
“If you look at the beginning of this year, things are very crazy. We’ve had a solar flare almost every week,” Fang warned. Because Solar Cycle 25 is trending higher than predicted, there is an increased chance for more huge solar storms over the next several years.
“We’re already way beyond where we predicted at this point,” he warned.

Calculations Show Schumer-Manchin Green Boondoggle Bill Will Have Little Impact on Global Temperature

Democrats, their media minions, and green justice activists are celebrating the recent passage of the Schumer-Manchin Green Boondoggle bill, which cobbled together climate regulations, drug price control measures, and Internal Revenue Service enhancements.
And while it is too early to feel the economy-harming and liberty-crushing consequences of much of the legislation, climate scientist Bjorn Lomborg looked at the Rhodium Group estimate for CO2 emissions reductions that would result from the from Schumer-Manchin policies.
His findings: The much monstrous measure will have an infinitesimal impact on the climate.
He then plugged them into the United Nations climate model to measure the impact on global temperature by 2100. He finds the bill will reduce the estimated global temperature rise at the end of this century by all of 0.028 degrees Fahrenheit in the optimistic case. In the pessimistic case, the temperature difference will be 0.0009 degrees Fahrenheit.
..This isn’t surprising. No matter what the U.S. does to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, it will be dwarfed by what the rest of the world does. China, India and Africa aren’t about to stop burning fossil fuels as they develop, and China is sprinting ahead to build huge new coal capacity despite its pledge to start reducing emissions after 2030.
Barring a breakthrough in battery or other technology, carbon emissions will continue to increase. No one knows how much the Earth’s temperature will warm, though even the U.N. model has modified its estimates from the apocalyptic predictions of some years ago.
However, there is something the “climate” experts targeting carbon dioxide emissions are completely ignoring that has a significant impact on the Earth’s climate: The Sun.
…[T] he early 1980s saw a reversal in the consensus about an important sun-weather effect and studying the topic was discouraged. The adversarial academic environment resulted in very few scientists dedicating their research efforts to this subject. Despite the difficulties, important advances have been made regarding the sun-climate effect. Lack of interest and disregard for a competing climate change mechanism hypothesis by mainstream climatologists has resulted in these advances being ignored. They remain under-cited and unknown to most supporters and skeptics of the CO2 hypothesis. More importantly, they are not discussed in most climate papers, they are simply ignored.
These advances refer to climate phenomena that typically are not properly included in climate models due to lack of knowledge of how they happen or what causes them. They are not, or only weakly, reproduced by models, yet in most cases they can be detected in climate reanalyses where the models are constrained by a huge number of real observations.
Importantly, no hypothesis for a sun-climate effect can be correct if it cannot explain or accommodate the relationship between these phenomena and solar variability. The sun-climate relationship, at present, represents a black hole in modern climatology that keeps growing without anybody seeing inside it.
I want to conclude by noting something our current media is ignoring in its hysteria over this summer’s heat waves. Solar activity has picked up recently, exceeding the projections by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
While the solar cycle is not yet at its peak, the space agency said activity has already surpassed predictions. Solar flares and eruptions will likely increase from now until 2025, as we reach “solar maximum,” writes Nicola Fox, the director of NASA’s heliophysics division.
“During the Sun’s natural 11-year cycle, the Sun shifts from relatively calm to stormy, then back again,” says Fox. “At its most active, called solar maximum, the Sun is freckled with sunspots and its magnetic poles reverse.”
…At 7:09 p.m. last Sunday, satellites detected an explosion on the sun and a “long-lasting eruption of a C9.3-class solar flare,” according to professional astronomer and science writer Tony Phillips‘s website Spaceweather.com, which monitors solar activity.
“The intensity is probably an underestimate because it was partially eclipsed by the edge of the Sun. Nasa’s Solar Dynamics Observatory saw hot debris flying away from the blast site,” the site reported on Monday. “Earth is not in the line of fire. The explosion is significant because it may herald an active region set to emerge over the sun’s northeastern limb later this week. A new sunspot group could bring an end to weeks of relative quiet.”
While we’ll likely see more solar flares – and resulting complications – as we approach to 2025, there’s no need to fear a doomsday scenario.
Not only is there no need to fear a doomsday scenario, but there is also no need to enact business-crushing climate mandates or suppress scientific findings that don’t support preferred political narratives.
