“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.” Gen 6:4

Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel. He was a giant of a man, measuring over nine feet tall!

He wore a bronze helmet and a coat of mail that weighed 125 pounds. He also wore bronze leggings, and he slung a bronze javelin over his back.

The shaft of his spear was as heavy and thick as a weaver’s beam, tipped with an iron spearhead that weighed fifteen pounds……

As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground…..

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the scabbard.

After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran.
1 Samuel 17

These skull shapes are shown here because some anomalous skulls are of extraordinary size-particularly brain size and because they may indicate the wider variety of human variation in the times prior to the flood when according to Genesis, only eight human beings escaped.

These skulls were photographed by Robert Connolly on his trip around the world during which he was collecting materials about ancient civilizations. The discovery of unusual skulls was thus an unintended “spinoff” of his efforts. Robert Connolly published his photographs on a CD-ROM, titled Search for Ancient Wisdom in 1995.

Busts have been found of two of the six female children to Nefertiti and Aken-aten. One might be of Meritaten, the eldest. The unusual family traits are obvious. Photographed in the Cairo Museum.

Artist David Arshawsky writes: (from Coast to Coast) I created my latest illustration (below), based on the weird “Conehead skulls” found in Peru. I used them to recreate “forensically”, what they might have looked like. I am working on the Adena giants…”
